Edit Registration Form

I have a registration form on my website, that has some required values. I want to make some of the required values not required. I do not want fields added or removed. Please be ok with an adult dating site. I want some selections to be added to the drop down box on the registrationj form and have these selections filtered in the search results.
The script is Java script, php and html.
