A lot of people want to start a digital business, but they're always worried about how much it will cost. The beauty of a digital business is that most of the things you need are pretty affordable, and you'll never have to rent an office if you don't want to. Most of the time, you'll need to have a certain set of skills to perform the tasks needed in the businesses below, but there are some workarounds that could open doors you might have thought would never open unless you had years of experience.
Become a Web Designer
One thing that a lot of people don't think of is becoming a website designer. This is because you need the coding skills to do this, and those don't come easily. You need to invest plenty of time into reading, testing, and working on side projects before you can sell your services... sort of.
If you don't have the skills or knowledge to do custom web designs, then you should look into Divi from ElegantThemes. Divi is a page builder that allows you to do some amazing things when it comes to web design, and you don't need to know a single thing about coding, which is why I love it lol. The pricetag for Divi is $89 a year or $250 for a lifetime license, which isn't that bad since you can sell a design for $500+
Offer your Content Writing Services
One of the easiest things to do, if you have decent grammar and can type fast/well, is offering a content writing service to anyone that will pay you. In the beginning, you will need to offer your services at a discounted price, but you'll be able to boost your prices gradually as your customers start to trust you and love your articles more and more
Setting up something like this is pretty simple. You only need a website, a logo, and some funds for a PPC campaign in order to bring in clients. You will need to do your research and know what the going rates are, so don't get discouraged when you need to charge $0.01 per word in the beginning! Build your clientele, increase your prices, and make plenty of money down the road after you get dozens of amazing reviews
Be an Editor and get paid to fix mistakes
Being an editor is similar to being a content writer, except you're fixing mistakes the writers have done. You'll be more of a gatekeeper that doesn't let bad content go out because you're using your skills to edit the submissions before they go live. Most of the time, you will need to be a content writer with a decent amount of orders under your belt before anyone will take you seriously as an editor. Sometimes you can be a writer for a company and apply to be an editor after you've submitted 10+ amazing articles to them.
Start out as an Affiliate and help other businesses
You can contact businesses and become affiliates of theirs in order to get a commission for each sale you send their way. You can also take it one step further and help people set up affiliate systems so they can start bringing in people to help push their products or services. You will charge them a flat fee for setting up their affiliate system and get a commission for each sale you send to them
Resell Digital Services as your own
One thing I really like doing is setting up a website and throwing around a dozen services on it. These services are not my own, they're from reputable businesses around the world, and I'll outsource the work to them once I get a sale. This is called being a Reseller, and it works pretty well I'll set up my site, set up some Adwords campaigns, and be the middle man for every order that comes in. I'll get reports from the sellers, send these reports to the buyers, and the buyers will think I did everything.
Final Thoughts,
Starting a digital business isn't the most difficult thing to do, but it can be confusing if you don't know where to start. You'll need to stick with one thing, grow it until you can't handle it anymore by yourself, then bring on freelancers to help you do everything. After that, you can branch out and hit a different niche while using your profits from the first one and speed up the success rates! Keep re-investing and boosting your profits until you have a workforce doing everything for you lol.
