    Alexa ranking is different from Google ranking. Google ranking is based on the quality of site (content, design, site speed etc.), backlinks and social signals, and keyword usages. Alexa ranking is primarily based on traffic. For Alexa ranking it does not mastter whether the site has quality contents or not. having high Alexa rank does not mean your site will also be ranked higher in search engines.

    The search engine ranking is based on the algorithm of the search engine like Google has a different algorithm than Yahoo and Bing while Alexa ranking is mainly based on the traffic that the website gets. I don’t see any connection between the Alexa ranking and the search engine ranking that they cannot complement or be of help to each other.
