How to sell web design when you have no coding or programming skills

We all know there are people out there selling web designs, and they don't have the skills to do the work.  They will code up some pages, ask for thousands of dollars, and be mad when you don't like the work they did in a few hours.  Well, what if I told you that you could do this but provide amazing works of art that your customer would love?

You Can!

I've done this a few times, and my customers have loved the work.  It does take a bit of time to customize everything and add various little elements and designs to the websites, but that's all worth the additional time invested because the clients are paying a good amount of money for this.

Think about it, would you run your own website design company with no coding or design skills?  Not A Chance!  But you can if you read the rest of this discussion lol.


Divi is your friend
I'm a big fan of WordPress and setting up themes for all of my websites because I like saving money, and premium themes are the way to go!  I don't like paying programmers and designers thousands of dollars each month to get something that I could have probably done myself if I invested 20 to 40 hours of work into it.  Now, I stumbled across Divi by accident but I'm so glad I did lol.

Divi is an excellent little Wordpress Theme builder with a drag and drop interface created by ElegantThemes.  They have the option to pay $89 for the year or $249 for lifetime access.  If you're not sure about this, then I would go with the cheaper option and upgrade to the $249 lifetime option after you see the potential this has.

Now, the big thing here is that you can use this for any website you want.  Set up a website for all the people in your family, and you will never have to pay for another theme again!  All you have to do is upload Divi and customize the site from scratch or use a pre-designed template and customize it to save some time!

Save your designs
A big thing with this, if you're going to stick with it, is that you should be saving your designs in sub-folders of your primary domain.  This way, you can show them to potential buyers as your examples.  Think of all the theme companies that have drop-down menus to show you all of their designs; you could be doing the same thing but with custom designs!

If someone likes one of the designs you've already done, but they want some things added or taken away, all you have to do is upload that website design to their hosting and do the necessary edits.  You just saved countless hours of work because you had already done it for a previous client!


Sell pre-made designs at a discounted rate
If you plan on saving your designs, you will want to sell them at a lower price for an "as is" option to all of your potential buyers.  This means if you sell your designs for $1,000 a piece, then your pre-made designs could sell for $200 or $250 because you don't have to do anything other than upload the files to a customers hosting account.  Now, if the customer wants you to edit anything, that's where they have to pay extra


In conclusion,
By using Divi, you can run your own web design company and give your customers amazing works of art without actually knowing how to code or design anything from scratch.  There is a slight learning curve, but WordPress and a drag and drop builder are easy to master over time, so don't be afraid to try this out if you're looking to sell something people will love.  Remember, this does take time so don't think you're going to get into this and sell the pre-made templates that Divi comes with.  You need to do the work, make your customers happy, and keep them coming back for more!
