How can you have a site with no content?

I have seen a few sites that are top listed sites but they do not have any content. How does one do this? I thought that content was king?

i suggest those site are using blackhat methods,so be careful so that you won't fall a victim of these angry search engines.

I don’t think the search engine will evaluate an empty site that even if you do a black hat on that site with no content it will not be ranked simply because it will be bypassed by the search engines. In getting to be top listed maybe there is some magic trick done there and I do not want to elaborate but definitely it is not a legitimate method and sooner or later the ranking will be back to normal with a corresponding penalty to the site.

I would never fall prey to this. I understand that they are most likely using black hat methods but find it incredible that a site with no content would rank so well.

That site is mysterious because if there is no content, I wonder how it could be rated. And you say that it is on top of the list, that’s really a mystery. Maybe there is a reason like it was ranked in page 1 and probably in the top 5 of the links and then the owner decided to scrap all the contents for a change of niche. That’s one possible reason. But you said that you found a few sites with no content then that’s really a mystery.
