How popular are mobile SEO services nowadays?

Did you know that mobile SEO services are growing in popularity ever since the new Smartphones arrived? To be more specific, since the year 2013 it has been simply booming.

According to the statistics, 90% of mobile searches result in an action such as visiting a business location or purchasing a product.
Majority of the consumers begin to feel more and more comfortable shopping from their mobile devices, as they feel really secured about it.

I can agree that the popularity of online shopping has increased and this is highly done by the use of smartphones. I however have zero experience in that sector as i think that it is related to affiliate and network marketing in the sense that people influence others to buy certain products or visit certain locations.

Maybe because it is a lot more convenient to us doing online shopping especially to those are always busy or to those have less time going to mall. It is preferable to them to just use their smartphone and some online shopping, it cost less time and also avoid traffic.

Well, it's always convenient and portable to use those tiny gadget compared to laptop. You can use anytime and anywhere you want. But, with me I still prefer to use laptop when doing tons of workload. I need bigger screen and more reliable to work with.

Oddly enough you're right. A lot more people use a Smartphone more often rather than a PC. I'm quite surprised, as PC was #1 always. More reliable and suitable. I guess times change.

Personally I can't understand that. I just don't feel comfortable using a Smartphone for all those needs. I feel a lot more safe and less disorientated while on a PC.
Just to make it clear, I'm 22. So I'm pretty much still this generation of 90's kids.

It's quite scary to think of what will become with PC's? I think only gamers nowadays use a PC more often than a Smartphone device. For many people PC are not necessary, whilst Smartphone is a must. I hope my PC and Windows 7/10 won't get disabled in the upcoming years with the growing demand for Smartphones.

Mobile SEO has been around for quite some time. As have mobile ads for websites. However, I personally don't use my phone unless it's for email, social media or browsing while I'm 'outside' or maybe in bed. I use my home PC mostly when I'm at home. That way my phone battery can stay charged and I'll ultimately get better mileage out of my mobile device than most people.

I usually used my smartphone for online shopping and for taking care of my freelancing sites whenever I am not able to use a laptop. I find it to be very convenient and user friendly as well because I work with it anytime and anywhere I want which is something that I really admire having these smartphones.

Maybe because it is a lot more convenient since it is one click away. Some people are too lazy going to shopping mall so for them it is better doing shopping online since it is less stress and you can access the product anytime anywhere.

@luv2xacosta Yes that is really true and that would be one of the disadvantages of having some smartphones because it teach us to be lazy at some time which prevent us from doing things that supposedly we must do just like on shopping offline to buy our favorite items. Shopping offline can help us to check the reliability and quality of the items that we want to buy that are very hard to deal with when we go shopping online. It really have some advantages and disadvantages and it would now depend on us on how we will used it properly.

That's because most android devices are cheaper compared to buying let's say a PC or a laptop. People get more use out of a handheld device that's why they opt to investing on one. Also, using a mobile phone is more convenient for everyone specially since they can check out all those sites and even shop on the go.

Is mobile SEO any different from SEO for sites that people visit when they use their PCs?

There was a time when webmasters would have two sites. People could either visit the mobile site or the desktop version of the site depending on the device they were using to access the net. A lot has changed since then with the advent of "responsive sites."

So does it mean that for you to rank higher in search if someone is using a mobile device, there's some different kind of SEO?

The thing with PCs and laptops is that you need time to set them up before you are able to make a search or something unlike smartphones which is always turned on and readily available almost anytime of the day. We can access it anywhere because it is small and takes a very little time to set up. This leads for us, customers, businessmen and the like to use smartphones over PCs and laptops when making/getting online services. Not to mention that the mobile version was optimized for easier access compared to desktop version when it comes to simplicity.

Yes true. It is more convenient and less hassle than the traditional way. Smartphones are getting bigger and broader years will pass. I just can't imagine how it boomed that way since we started from a simple technology and now it becoming automated and high. Interesting statistic I never knew this. I guess this is not a bad business to pursue as a freelancer. I wonder if the SEO tactics for mobile and web are the same. Do you need to employ different SEO strategies if you are doing mobile SEO, this will be interesting to find out. Also do you get more clients because you offer mobile SEO services? I guess mobile browser users have more intention than the users of computer browsers in terms of searching. Computer browsers usually search for information just to check but mobile users do the search because they need something. However I cannot rely on my opinion only because that is just plain observation and has no statistics to back it up. But I believe that mobile browsers are now constituting the majority of internet users.
