Auto save is a big one, especially if I’m half way through a post and get interrupted! Once I lose my train of thought it can be hard to get back.

It may sound lame but I also love when emojis are available. It can really help convey a mood when you’re able to put in icons and so forth to express yourself more than with just words.

I do agree, the auto save feature is very useful for me. I've used it a lot of times, it's very handy when I'm mobile and there's a sudden signal interruptiion while I'm writing. I wouldn't worry on retyping it again because it was automatically saved.

When you are writing on a forum that have autosave options, you tend to have the confidence irrespective of whether the network of where you are is slow or not. I always enjoy working in this kind of circumstances as well which is pretty okay to me.

So do I. Auto save is very useful and effective. No need to type again once you did not save it. You can also save time for it.

That feature really saves my time, and I agree with you, I hope that they can add more feature like that in the near future.

I agree with you. It's actually frustrating in some sites that don't have the auto-save feature. It makes you want to just leave and never type again.

Well laid home page is something that I always cherish. I have been working and when I see sites that are built with easy way to locate what you are looking for, I always appreciate that as this is the way to prove that you are doing something that is right.

I also think that a well laid out design is critical, not just for forums but for any website. If things are hard to navigate I’m always really deterred to continue visiting that particular website.

There are many beautiful features. I love it when it is easy to navigate in a site. Autosave is also a great feature. Replying to comments should be easy.

I agree with you. Auto-save really is the most convenient feature. I hope that it's also applicable to all sites though.

I would agree with previous posters. Auto-save is a great feature, and sometimes a lifesaver, or well "text saver" in this care.

I like private messaging features along with the ability to follow your friends on the forum.

I remember way back in the early days of forums all you had was threads and posts, and maybe private messages if your forum software had that feature. When forums went more social (and kinda took ideas from social media websites features) this was probably my most favorite feature.

I would also like to add that I like features that show trending threads and maybe a chat room of some kind. Sometimes I rather chat via a chat room then to post on a thread which for me makes everything a whole lot easier.

Now, recently some forums have the options to opt-in to notifications via the browser such as Facebook does. This is really cool and I hope it gets expanded on. Cuts a lot of emails out of the equation too.

PM features are nice! I've made quite a few friends through various forums I've been on, and I don't think we would have been able to connect in the same way without a PM feature. I also like the ability to have a chat room - it's often just a more relaxed way to get to know your fellow forum members. As long as it's appropriately moderated of course, otherwise it can be a venue for hateful comments or trolls!

I like that too. It's nice to have a private message on the forum since you may gain friends through discussions and may help each other with your businesses or sites.

Yes, same here, I love the feature of autosaved while typing, because sometimes happens that the browser unexpectedly crashed, and the thing that you typed will be saved automatically, so you don't need to type it again.

I think the most feature I really like in forums are the system of rewards like badges or levels that inspire users to take part. Essentially, users can emerge as community specialists. That can also provide their private data and links to their websites. I suppose it’s very essential. People are commonly more eager to take part when they could build their reputation and benefit to recognition.

I always like the level system as well, even though it's not for us to exchange for cash, it's something fun to achieve when we are participating in forums. It's like playing a game, and that really motivates us to take part.

I agree that auto-save is a good feature, but it's still okay for me if a forum or blog doesn't have that feature. Perhaps I am quite used to re-type what I have written if I wasn't able to publish it.

The feature I really like in a forum or blog is the "related posts". I always like to check out a post in forum or blog, then there are several recommended or related posts showing that allow me to click on them and read. It's a easy way for me to read the posts that might interest me as well.

I also agree with the auto-save feature not only in forum but to other software as well. Well, of course it is because it will save your work for an unexpected error that we might encounter. Therefore it is very helpful for everybody, I believe. Other than auto-save feature, I'd like to emphasize the importance of having a good support feature which we can be able to contact someone from the creators about so we can let them know about our concerns and ask them for help and sometimes to inform them a certain matter that needs to be attended and solved.

There was a time when flaming was quite common on forums. This made participating on forums less enjoyable because a troll would drop in and foul things up. Rather disgusting they were.

Nowadays when you notice that someone is annoying on other threads you could click "ignore" and never see this person's posts. For me this is one of the features I like best about forum software. Makes the forums a nice place to hang out because trolls will leave once they realize that they are being ignored.

I have noticed that most forums now have the grammar and spelling checker. In the olden days I had seen forums with lots of mistakes in spelling and also in grammar because there was no feature for correcting such mistakes. I think Grammarly is the name of the software or plug-in for that grammar checker which can minimize the grammar mistakes when posting.

Just like most of you, what I love about forum softwares is the auto-save feature. It could be very annoying that you would just opt to not type again if your internet connection gets interrupted and the long text that you have typed disappeared. Auto-save will really 'save' people.
