Website branding is everything in today's world because no one wants to buy from the second or third best business in the industry. It doesn't matter if you have a product or service that is 10x better than your competitor, if you're not branded and they are, you won't get as many sales if you're set side by side. If you're not the best in your industry, well there still hope because you can change your approach and only provide greatness, but it will take time to revamp and brand your business so you're seen as amazing.
Branding takes plenty of time before you see anything positive happen and there are plenty of ways you can approach this. One of the ways is by using strategic PPC campaigns in order to bring people in, possibly get some sales, and brand yourself along the way. You need to be patient when you're branding because your profits won't start to skyrocket right away, it takes time and will work as long as you keep posting and building relationships with your customers.
Branding needs to be done over time
Like I mentioned above, branding needs to be done over time in order to see everything compile and bring in plenty of traffic and sales. Over time you will be seen as an authority in your industry and people will be purchasing from you solely because of your business name. They will look up reviews, posts, pages, etc. about you and get the idea of you as the leader.
If you have a ton of content out there about your own website or business you will notice that more people will start to purchase from you on their first or second visit. People will actually look up your business online after they land on your website, they will find great content that you've posted or gotten posted for you, and they will make a purchasing decision based on that. This takes time, and a decent amount of money if you're paying others to do it, but it works well and the work compiles as long as the 3rd party websites stay live for a while.
Use strategic PPC and retargeting to push your brand
When building your brand you will likely get into PPC in order to bring people to your website and hopefully make a purchase. The thing you need to do before running this campaign is get a facebook pixel on your website in order to have a specific ad show to them the next time they go on there. They will have found you on Google, gotten a cookie from the pixel on your website, then BAM they see your ad the next time they log into Facebook They will usually think "Hey, I just saw this website and now they're popping up in my news feed!" and that's going to help brand you a bit more.
Just like email marketing, it takes a few views before a person decides to make a purchase, but email marketing takes roughly 6 times before they pull the trigger and remarketing only takes 2 times on average
You may not profit your first week or month
When you're branding your website you can't look at how much money you're making with the campaigns you're running. You're putting up these campaigns in order to get remembered when people aren't on your pages. If you can get direct traffic from people remembering your website, you've done everything right, but that takes plenty of time to take effect and not many people can wait that long.
If you want to do your branding just right, don't focus on how much money you're making, focus on how well you're getting noticed and bringing people back in from multiple platforms.
A rebranding may be needed before you see anything positive
If you purchased a domain that was branded wrong a while back, you may need to do a rebranding, but that's not always the easiest thing to do. Your rebranding process should start with pushing legitimate press releases talking about how the business is under new management and you're going to be giving away a deal for the first month in order to prove you're 1,000x better than the previous owners.
You may not have a lot of negative PR out there from a previous domain, but any bad information about you out there is going to come up to haunt you eventually, so get on the job now and push positive content all over the place talking about how your business is under new management and refer back to it when someone shows you the negative content that could do damage to your business.
You will be an authority if you can stick it out
If you have the patience to stick with your branding you will eventually become the authority you want to be. It's a long journey to take, but the end of it will be filled with riches hopefully, and you can look back and think "I started from the bottom now I'm here" lol
Being the authority within your industry isn't the easiest thing to do, but it's definitely possible, so you should get started today and see what you can do within your first month.
In conclusion
Your branding won't work right away and may not show anything positive within the first few months, but that doesn't mean you should stop doing it. You should brand as much as you can, run PPC campaigns with remarketing in place, and show your website to as many people as possible for them to remember you whenever they need something you offer. If you can do your branding just right you will see your direct traffic increase and your conversions get better and better because people won't have to look around much to find something positive about you online.
