Overall, I support active websites and blogs that update consistently. However, quality will always be better than quantity. The same principle applies to running a website or blog. If you can continuously create good content worth viewing then, by all means, update often! So long as your overall post quality doesn't drop.
Personally, I like to have a scheduled day for readers to know when I update. Helps build devoted visitors. At the same time, deadlines aren't the easiest to keep. Nevertheless, I suggest starting off by updating your site every week. If you gain consistent and good traffic while maintaining excellent posts quality, nothing is wrong with updating twice a week (maybe Mondays and Fridays?).
Whether you're vlogging for Youtube or a blogger for your own website. Uploading new content daily isn't the easiest. Many people have tried (and somewhat succeeded). However, it generally doesn't last for long periods of time. I feel you put yourself on a working clock that doesn't make your career fun anymore.
