6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

When you're just starting out you may think that SEO is a scary thing, but it's not, you just don't understand exactly what to do and how long it takes to boost your rankings. You shouldn't worry too much about SEO and how long it takes, it does work and brings in traffic, so you just need to be patient and read through this discussion to answer some of the questions that may have been holding you back from pulling the trigger on your new SEO campaign.

Below are a few things you likely are asking in forums or around the internet, but you may just get people advertising their own services to you, so here's a list of unsolicited answers that can help you out 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

What is the ROI of SEO?
When you're doing SEO for your website you're likely going to think of how much money you can make from it, otherwise you wouldn't be doing SEO at all, right? Well, It's hard to say what your ROI would be because we don't know your niche and how much time you're going to invest into doing your SEO campaign. When it comes to SEO, the work you do compiles and builds up your rankings across the board, so the ROI is solely dependent on how much work you actually put into it.

Now, if you're hiring a specialist or a company to do your SEO, then your ROI will likely be better even though you have to pay someone to run your campaign. This is because you will be paying someone who already knows what to do for your website, and they will hopefully know what NOT to do, which means you don't have to worry about screwing anything up and taking time to fix it.

How much time do I have to invest?
If you plan on doing SEO for your own websites, you may want to think of how much time has to go into a successful campaign, because you might start leaning towards paying someone to do the work. If you're just running one website and are doing your own SEO, you could be writing content and placing links all day long for a few months before you start to see top rankings.

The time invested also depends on your niche because smaller niches are easier to rank in typically and larger ones obviously take longer due to more competition doing what you plan to do.

Will I get penalized?
That's definitely a possibility if you do your own SEO or hire a company that doesn't know what they're doing. You will need to do your research and understand what to do and especially what NOT to do if you want to avoid gaining a penalty for your website. Getting a penalty is the easy part, removing or getting it lifted is the difficult part, so play it safe and do massive amounts of research prior to starting out on your own SEO campaign.

How will the public perceive my website after SEO is done?
No one will really know you're doing SEO for your website, so the public probably won't even care that you're now showing up on 3rd party websites in articles. You'll actually get more within the public eye because now you're starting to rank for new keywords that you didn't think of, and that means new customers who will like and share your services or products (hopefully) 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

How do I do my targeting?
This all depends on who you're targeting and where they live. If you're targeting teenagers in the United States, you'll need to run your SEO campaigns in order to peak their attention. To do this, you need to be writing content on websites they will frequently be visiting, and the content you post will need to be written in a way they understand. If you're doing a sort of time-sensitive SEO campaign, you'll need to be sure you're posting when these kids are out of school and able to read what you're saying.

Now, this is just a quick example and you'll need to obviously tweak it to fit your demographic, but it's not too difficult to do 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

How complex is SEO?
If you think about the basics like backlinking, content creation, and on page optimization then SEO isn't too difficult. But if you're like me, who has 15+ years of SEO experience, I'll tell you it's a bit more complex than you may think. Your campaigns have to be so complex that you work your marketing strategy into them as you're trying to boost your rankings. Most people just focus on slipping in keywords to their titles but I like to have catchy titles that are optimized in order to hit 2 fronts, marketing as well as optimization, and I think I do pretty well at it 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

It's only as complex as you want it to be because you can certainly get by just doing basic SEO and getting traffic in from the search engines. The more you put in, the more complex it gets, but the more you'll likely profit at the end of the month or year 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

In conclusion
SEO shouldn't be seen as some scary method to boost your rankings because it isn't, it's just a way to get in front of people who are already looking for you. You're essentially showing the search engines that you're a great website that needs some publicity, and they will boost your rankings to see how you perform, and they'll either keep you up high or they'll knock you back to page 2 or 3 until you've gotten enough votes from the community 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

It's a general fact or question by every human being to know what they are going to be earning from anything that they invest their time and money on, and asking what they are most likely to be earning from taking part in SEO isn't far fetched.

Also, the question of how long is it going to take to earn money is another curious question asked by people especially beginners who recently joined the online making money band wagon. Nobody wants to get stuck in a project that would take ages before one can begin to reap its benefits.

People all over the world think they're going to make money the day they start, but they quickly realize it takes time to just set up your website and optimize it. Now, I can set up a website in a day and make money tomorrow, but it won't be a finished website and it will likely take a week or more to get it to a point where it's sort of finished lol 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

It's not an easy thing to do, and we need to tell people this so they don't get discouraged when they start out, they should actually know before they start because that will remove a lot of the "SEO is Dead!" threads we see post up all over the internet lol 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

Any normal person would invest money on the assumption that he will earn. It is silly to expect someone to invest without waiting for the return. Anyway, there are investments that are for long term and there are investments that are for short term. In the online world it is always the fast-tracking of business that is attractive because the sooner you earn then the better for the investor.

You get what you pay for. I mean, an expensive company, more than not, is going to avoid penalties while a lesser one could be questionable. Well, anyway, I would go with an expensive company to avoid the risk. However, though, of course, it won't be easy cost-wise!

Exactly!

I do pay for a few $5 services, but they are from freelancers who are doing manual work and just building me some buffer pages on platforms like squidoo or submitting content for me around the web as a sort of mini press release lol 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO If I do have to outsource my SEO, I will pay much more than most of the services listed here, because I know what I'm getting and I can actually go for a short drive to the offices downtown and talk to the people who are working on the campaigns 6 main things new website owners worry about when it comes to SEO

I think that SEO can help a bit but the bulk of the work and sales always comes from marketing and advertising.

When it comes to the complexity of SEO, I guess we can consider it to be really complex. First is the result of the SEO work. We cannot define when the effect will be felt. That’s the main issue with SEO specialists that they cannot give a definite time frame when it comes to the effect or result of the SEO work that was done. That’s why this issue should be clarified with the client so there will be no misunderstanding later on.

I agree that SEO is complicated and can give you many sleepless nights. The biggest worry for me is the time I need to invest to get highly ranked and how long it will take to grow my audience, Most people never factor in that aspect of it when growing an online business. I think this is the cause of most failures when you realize how much time you need to grow your business. Some people don't put in the required time and effort and call it hard, simply giving up.

Well, to be honest, if someone wants to win at SEO, why not just study the incoming links (backlinks), material of a winning site? That can easily be done on Majestic, Ahrefs, and a few other websites - for a fee, of course. Anyhow, the fee can be quite large - as with Ahrefs, but I feel it's the best way to go.

OK. who has tried this method of SEO?

To be honest, I am among those people who are scared by the complexity of SEO. I have been reading various blogs and pdf files that talk about SEO, but it the understanding of various individuals is different. I will be glad the day I will fully understand SEO because it scares me.
