We all know that content is what helps you boost your rankings within the search engine results pages (SERPs), but not many people think of how that content can actually help you boost your sales. The beauty of content is that you can spin words of wonder and also pitch people at the same time. You can create a story as well as talk about your product in the same paragraph, which will key people in on what made you successful or helped you out along the way.
You won't want to pitch people with every single sentence, but a slight nudge in the direction of your sales page isn't going to hurt your bottom line either Now, the problem some people run into is that they get a few sales from an article they were a little pitchy in, and they start to alter their writing styles so they are always pitching, but then their sales start to drop off and they don't know why. In this discussion, I'll be covering a few things that will help you boost your sales solely from writing your content a certain way, and those things are:
Solve someone's problem with your content
When you're browsing around online you'll notice that people all over are asking questions that they desperately need answers to. There are actual Q&A platforms that are dedicated to this type of marketing, and they do extremely well in terms of generating traffic to their subpages where the questions and answers are.
What you'll want to do is figure out the questions that people are likely to answer and write up a long article about that very question. Obviously, you'll want to answer the question and add in additional information related to the question you're writing about so people stay on your website and browse around after they've finished reading what they came for.
If you can answer hundreds of questions, while optimizing your content for related keywords, you'll notice your traffic starting to have a really good upward tick and your sales or sign ups start to get boosted.
Write content that could go viral
Content needs to be written in a way that it's informative, which means you need a good amount of information within it for people to understand it well, but it also needs to be written in a way so it can potentially go viral.
To get an article to go viral, it needs to have a sort of edge and possibly be confrontational, but you can't post something like this all of the time because your website will just come across as something that wants to stir the pot. What you'll want to do is figure out what is making waves within your niche and write about it in a way that no one is currently.
Let's take SEO for example since everyone knows it at least a little bit. If I were to write up an article about how SEO is dying out and the rise of AI will kill any online marketing jobs, I'm sure people would come to it and comment that I'm crazy and SEO will never die because it's a series of variables combined within an algorithm to determine the rankings of a website and AI wouldn't do that. Yes, AI won't be doing that and SEO will likely never die but it will alter from year to year. My post wouldn't be about for spreading the information about how it will die, but it will be to pull people in to discuss why they think it's not going to die. If I can achieve this, I've already won even if the reader doesn't agree with me
If you can get your content to go viral it will get in front of hundreds or thousands of readers each day and that will definitely boost your sales
Add your personality to each article
You can't sound like a robot when you're writing, because people won't come back to read your second or third post. Take my writing, for example, here on SEOclerks I write in a friendly manner but educate people at the same time. People tend to gravitate towards my discussions because the way I write is inviting and never overwhelming to the reader, which keeps them coming back whenever they see I posted something.
If you can add your personality to your writing, people will eventually start to gravitate towards you and that means you can build up a following. Just like here on SEOclerks, you can build a following by offering your readers a chance to sign up for your newsletter which will notify them whenever you have a certain number of new posts live on your website or blog. Doing this will boost your sales since they will likely come back from time to time and they may eventually make a purchasing decision.
In conclusion
Content is one of the most powerful marketing tools you can use, and you don't even have to pay for it because you can do it yourself, but you can also outsource it for a few bucks if you don't feel comfortable writing massive amounts of content yourself. If you can solve someone's problem, write some articles that have the potential to go viral, and add your own personality and voice to your writing you will be able to watch your authority rise as well as your sales!
