    I think signature links are more effective when it comes to promoting our site rather than the profile link. These days people don't care the person who created the contents, instead, they are more interested in checking the content. They don't care where contents come from, they care what the content is about. While sharing links on your forum signature, it will be more effective if you write a short teaser. Link does not say much, but teaser will make people want to know more about it.
