5 methods to boost your ROI when it comes to social media

I'm sure you've heard it all, social media is one of the best ways to pull in new clients and sales, but are you capitalizing on it already?  I'm sure I've told thousands of people through my discussions to post great content, increase your followers, obtain more sign ups, etc.  But did you know that social media marketing and search engine optimization go hand in hand?

We all know that posting to social media profiles will help increase your chances of getting a sale, but the content isn't the only thing you need to worry about.  Your basic information such as you location and description, on your profiles, can help you get a new client on board.  Think of it as optimizing your social media profiles for better rankings, even though it's not a search engine.

If you've ever done a search on Google, you've likely come across plenty of social media profiles ranking for short tailed as well as long tailed keywords.  This means those profiles are optimized and Google took notice, then placed them accordingly within their rankings and are now sending traffic to the company's social media profiles.

Now, these social media platforms, such as Facebook, aren't necessarily a search engine but their internal workings are just as complex and can be used as one.  Did you know that Facebook has over 2 billion searches each day on their platform?  Twitter has even more at 2.1 billion and they don't show any signs of slowing down.  What if you could capitalize on those searches and funnel massive amounts of traffic to your profiles?

It's definitely an important thing to update your website constantly by adding plenty of fresh content so the search engines take a liking to you.  It's also a good thing to focus on your social media profiles and post to them regularly while adding great content.  Here's how you can start building up your social media profiles:

More social profiles = More success
Having one or two profiles won't bring in as much traffic as if you had 10 or 20, obviously.  Now, I'm not talking about making 20 different Facebook profiles and trying to optimize all of them for your own purposes, unless you have your own profile and 19 employee profiles all optimized for the internal rankings on a specific platform.

You will want to build up your own profiles on all the major social media platforms, and even the smaller ones.  The bigger platforms that you should start with are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest.  You'll need to optimize all of these accounts as well as get your websites URL embedded on the profiles.  Having all of your employees do the same thing will maximize the chances of siphoning traffic from these platforms to your website.

A trick you can do, if you don't have employees, is to make a bunch of accounts on the same "Work IP" and if anything goes south, you can always respond to the social platform as the employee and get the account unblocked.  Of course, you'll have to post to all these accounts regularly, which will take a lot of time but could be worth it.

Write up your Bio's and don't forget to add keywords
The internal search algorithm on all of the social media platforms have their own search algorithms and they aren't as sophisticated as Google.  A good example of this is LinkedIn, you can basically keyword stuff your entire profile and rank for whatever you want.  They haven't fixed this issue and I've gotten profiles ranked for "SEO Specialist" within a few minutes and gotten plenty of clients because of it lol 5 methods to boost your ROI when it comes to social media

Not all of the internal search algorithms aren't as easy to manipulate as LinkedIn, but that doesn't mean they should be ignored.  Make sure to get your main keyword within the descriptions or bios on the profile so you can have a better chance of ranking for them when someone searches.

High quality profiles have high quality images
When you land on a poorly designed website, you tend to leave before reading much.  The same goes with your social media profiles and people will run away as soon as they get to them if there are low quality images on there.  The images are the first thing people will see when they land on your social media profile, so you'll want to make it look as high quality as possible.  You can use some stock images or start up Photoshop and get something made, just be sure you have the rights to the images so you don't get sued.

You don't have to post all the time, but you do have to post
So many times I've heard people complain about not getting traffic from their social media profiles, and it's usually because they're posting once a month.  You'll need to post, on average, around once per week so you can stay relevant.  Remember, anything you're posting will need to be keyword specific, and be sure to optimize it as well.

Being "Active" is different for each person
Not everyone will be able to post 10 times a day, and your visitors will understand that.  If you're posting a few times a week or just once, the people who land on your profiles will still see the post as recent and likely click through to your website.

You also need to engage with the visitors to your profiles, if you don't, you will not be creating more content and hopefully boosting your rankings within the internal search systems on your social media platforms.

In Conclusion
If you do all of the above, you will notice a decent amount of traffic increase and your ROI will be better than it was before.  You can have multiple profiles across the various social media platforms in order to siphon as much traffic as possible, so get to creating and thank me later lol 5 methods to boost your ROI when it comes to social media

The part about high quality images definitely hits home - I recently took over the social media platforms for an organization and the quality of their images previously was pretty mediocre. I've already noticed how many new followers we get daily based on having crisp, bright, inviting images.

The fact the you maintain honesty to your clients and posting pictures that are very true regarding your products will help you have a lot of clients in social media. They usually share it if you are very legit and honest to your clients.

I am a member of a Facebook Group composed of employees of a defunct company. When I was thinking of a reunion and a tarpaulin is in order, I checked the Facebook Group for the photos that the members have posted. I was able to gather around 30 images which are old, of course. But when I checked on the images to be placed in the tarpaulin, I was disappointed with the quality. Not even 1 photo was worth to be in the tarpaulin due to the low quality of the resolution.

Updating the content on your social media wbesite at least once a week is a good way to show your followers on the internet that you are really ready for the business and being able to attend to their needs as well. This is one good way to keep the account alive and active.

If you're using Facebook concentrate in building your own group and getting a lot of friends and members, you can do this by posting attractive content them and joining a lot of groups related or unrelated to your niche it's always best to have access to different groups on different niches.

I agree that you need more than one profile, but not too many. Two or Three the most will do. But creating another profile for another niche is not encourage, it's best to concentrate in creating different groups and tapping them.

I agree on this that Facebook can really boost our ROI since many people are using it either for fun or for marketing purposes. Facebook has a lot of users worldwide that is why it is very useful in advertising certain products or services.

I must admit I haven't branched out much. I am using Facebook and to a lesser extent Twitter. These are the main social media sites that I am using. I like Facebook for it's reach.

Once social media is concerned, fresh content is treasure to one's account because it's what would literally lure more people and traffic to your site and it's their presence that would boost your Return of Investment (ROI).

Nobody likes to visit a page that doesn't offer new quality content because it's where they are looking forward to getting a useful information that would serve one purpose or another for the individual.

It is all about the quality and not the quantity and as soon as we all come to the realization that the quality of the contents that we write matters, the better is going to be for a of us which is really great as well. Working out ways to make things work is also a great thing to do.

I think using automation helps improve the ROI. I have noticed that there are plenty of people who make use of the automation. And they get more things done on time. I am not sure how that works out though. I think using the automation and also some of the content specific for social media can definitely improve the followers. I have seen lot of known influencers make use of the automation. And it works out for them.

It helps to have a complete social media profile with high-quality images to attract followers, but keeping their attention really requires you to have a constant communication through your posts and even interacting with them in the comments, Showing them your more personal side and not just the business side makes you feel closer and approachable which can give a good feedback on the perception of your business.

I have social profiles (and pages) on all of the major platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. Some I am active and some are fed with automated posts. But I am on social media for one reason and one reason only. That's where the people are! I am certain that the amount of success I enjoy is only because I built a reputation on social media.

I have a drumming website which utilizes social media (other people's Facebook pages), but honestly, if there wasn't some guy boosting my posts for free, my particular traffic method wouldn't work. Anyway, though, it has brought me a good deal of visitors for the drum lessons I have made. So who on here has tried boosted posts? What was your result?

Yes, definitely all those things you mentioned are necessary keys to help you getting to know well online. Setting up your profile in your social media accounts is probably a great way to increase your popularity as well as for your clients to have a closer look to your identity and for them to trust you with your business. Most people nowadays are doing a background checking before they can finally trust you with different transactions so your profile is really much needed to comply seriously and more importantly you're honest with your profile and make sure you can defend whatever you out in your profile.

I agree that social media is a very effective platform to promote your products and yourself. If you have ever used this platform you know that it is like trying to walk in the dark, because its hard to know what your audience will respond to at least with seo, you know you'll get an audience that is searching for a keyword that maybe your product. I quite agree to get results you need to find a way to engage your audience. Posting regularly is one of the best ways.

I have accounts on facebook, google plus, linkedin, pinterest, instagram, twitter, stumble upon, and reddit. However, I am only using twitter and facebook. I sometimes use pinterest and linked in, but I am no longer using reddit, instagram and stumble upon. Having said that I understand the importance of being active on all of the social media sites that I have joined. I also understand the importance of posting regularly. Even though I use facebook and twitter frequently, I do not post much.
One of the reasons why I am not posting frequently because it consumes my time. Perhaps I need to automate social media posting.

You've got to be active on almost all of them as long as you are looking at making things work for you at the end of the day. I have always been in that situation where I was that active on some of the social media accounts that I have and that really affected my business opportunities over such media platforms.

It is true that you have to use as many social media sites as you can. However, if you are doing everything by yourself, for instance building up contents, doing seo, social media marketing, it is impossible to remain active on many social media sites. Here lies the importance of hiring a social media manager or using automated service through a program like hootsuite.

I understand the concept of having more profiles in social media will give you more benefits. However, I also understand that maintaining a profile is not that easy because you have to invest time and effort. I have only 1 profile in Facebook for now and sometimes I don’t even have the time to check on it. And checking is not only for my account but also to the posts of my friends since if I don’t interact then my profile may lose interaction as well. I cannot imagine myself to maintain 5 profiles that are active. It is nearly impossible for me to do.

I think companies should identify KPIs when developing their social media strategies, and then use those metrics to determine their content promotion and advertising spend.

Done right, digital and social platforms help drive different customers through the sales funnel, resulting in increased ROI.
