Duplicating the word of mouth by using social media influencers is the same as if your sister, brother, friend, or colleague recommended a restaurant in your area and you just had to check it out. Influencer marketing is getting people will a cult following to post about your service or product in order to obtain more foot traffic or website traffic (usually just website traffic).
So many people today have access to social media platforms through their smart phones. For this reason, it's much easier to use influencer marketing in order to boost your sales. People have access to their phones at all times and can see your advertisement being pushed by someone they follow. The usually trust the person they're following, which will result in a higher percentage of a sale.
Trust goes a long way, so if you can use that to your advantage you can increase your sales. Paying influencers to publish you content will instantly turn you into a nobody to a trusted somebody lol.
Below are a few ways you can find affordable influencers to help market your services or products
1. You need to start off by targeting the small fish.
There are a ridiculous amount of people on social media platforms that have a massive following. But what you need to remember is that the bigger their following, the more it will cost for you to hire them to publish you material. I talked with one fashion lady who had around 3,000,000 followers across 3 or 4 platforms and she wanted $7,000 for 3 posts (WTF!!!!). On the other hand I had a toy inflencer with 500,000 followers on Instagram charge me $25 for a post lmao
What you'll need to do is figure out what the average cost per 100,000 is for a post. Contact 10 to 20 people with massive followings and see what they charge, if they charge at all. Then average the amounts to figure out what you should be paying per 100k followers. Each niche will be different like the example I offered above, but you'll never know how much until you ask around
Smaller accounts tend to have a nice engagement because they don't usually flood their accounts with posts, like the large ones do. That's why I'll usually target smaller accounts AND larger accounts at the same time.
2. Hyper-Related Influencers
If you're selling rings and the influencer is in fashion, it's not super targeted. You will want to target people who only talk about rings so that you know the advert they publish for you will have the biggest impact. Remember, the more followers means the higher amount you're going to pay. So you might want to get super targeted in the beginning rather than broad matching your influencer targeting
3. Contact your ideal influencers directly and be friendly
What you'll want to do is contact the influencer directly and not through the comments section of their posts. You will always have a means to do this, sometimes you have to search for it because it's not always obvious.
Start with around 25 influencers at the start because not all of them will respond to you.
You'll want to get as much information into the initial engagement as possible so that you don't have to wait a day or week in order to get a second response. What I'll usually say is something like...
"Hi there,
I was wondering if you offered any sort of sponsored content?
I have my website (Website Here) and I think your followers would like it.
If you do offer sponsored posts/content, how much do you charge?
Also, do you offer bulk discounts for multiple posts?
Thank You,
Razzy "
In that message you can see I'm asking a few questions in which, hopefully, will get answered. Based on the answers, I will know if they offer sponsored posts, how much they are and if they give discounts on bulk orders.
If they're active, you'll likely get 10 to 15 that will respond within 24 hours and you can start with them if their prices are reasonable.
4. It's a numbers game
The more influencers you contact, the higher likelihood you'll be able to purchase some influencers marketing. Some influencers may just ignore your DM's while others will not see them at all and some may even respond with ridiculous numbers per post.
Think of it as applying for a job, the more resumes you get out there, the higher chance you'll get a call back and the job So start contacting influencers and get your message out there!
5. Test different ideas with influencers.
Think of this as split testing, because it will be. You won't always know what works right off the start because you haven't piled enough data to do so. For this reason, you'll need to test different content, items and services with each influencer to see which works best. Of course you'll need to be tracking everything to see what's working and what's not, but that's pretty standard.
Not every influencer will be good for you. Sure they might have a lot of followers, but the engagement rate of those followers could be less than a profile who has half the followers. For this reason I like to see the engagement per post for the influencers before I make a purchasing decision. I can sometimes use that information and get them to reduce the prices because I'll be paying Influencer A $25 a post and their get 10,000 engagements per post but Influencer B has twice as many followers and wants $50 a post but I don't feel comfortable doing that. I can say that I'm using influencer A who has more engagement per post and they're charging me less, and Influencer B will usually reduce their price
In Conclusion:
Influencer marketing isn't always an easy thing to do. You will need to figure out what influencers to use and which ones to avoid at all costs. The influencer might have a lot of followers, but that doesn't mean they're better. Check their last 10 posts and see what type of engagement they have, the higher the engagement means the better your chances are for making a sale
