I haven't actually tried this one so I am hoping you guys could enlighten me about the possibilities of still getting customers and clients even if you have a poorly designed website but your services are really good and trustworthy. I have seen some websites who offer services or sell some products and the website/designs are in low quality but the feedbacks and reviews are very good despite the lack of enhancements and modifications of the website.
I used to ask myself how come they can't update or make their sites look pretty and catchy if they are doing good business? Does that mean people don't just look at the appearance anymore as long as the quality of the product or services are top notch?
- one has amazing website design and great reviews,How about bad design but highly recommended? Sure it looks bad or not pleasant and catchy but if it gets the job done and it does more than expected, we wouldn't complain, would we? But yeah, of course having a good quality website would really get more views.
- the other one has bad design and great reviews.

Word of mouth advertising? People start directing other customers by saying: "Just look for the ugly website!"Haha this made me giggle for real. It may not be the norm but if gets the job done and has a lot of positive reviews and feedbacks, why not right? People nowadays tend to go for whatever gets the job than and if possible, more than expectation. So probably the dudes who are selling their services don't have time to beautify their sites. I really believe that if you have a nice design of the site, you increase the chances of getting customers or and more traffic. Let's compare though. Let's say there are two websites;
- one has amazing website design and great reviews,
- the other one has bad design and great reviews.
Which one would you pick? I think we'd all prefer the first option which proves that we do care about overall appearance. My point is, are the websites you're talking about in a very specific niche with low competition? Then they can get away with it. If they have such a bad design/look of the whole website then I really wonder how they even attracted their clients in their first place when there weren't any good reviews yet? Perhaps through paid traffic... no clue but I wouldn't attempt to do this myself.
