What do you think about lifestyle bloggers?

It's very common today to see people who live from showing their lifestyle through social media. Lifestyle bloggers take amazing pictures, travel a lot, get free products, become image of certain firms and make a lot of money from what it seems to be only "living their lifes". I'm follower of several lifestyle bloggers. They're all very very very similar. Seems to me like there's a pattern to be succesfull in this digital world... but, what is it? Is it fair that some people have regular jobs of eight hours per day and earn barely enough to live... and other people seem to magically make money from living a dreamed life?

I have a blog and I only write about what really sets my soul on fire. But it seems like is not enough... there's something you got to have if you wanna live from a blog. What do you guys think it is?

I have a friend who is a lifestyle blogger and sometimes I envy her trips. She would post on Facebook about her activities so it's like we are following where she goes and what she is doing. I don't consider myself as a writer since I know I have a lot to improve. And I also have dreams of being a blogger when I retire from my office job. But maybe I wouldn't consider to be a lifestyle blogger because it looks hectic to me. And if you will not go with the trend then your blog will be left behind. But in fairness to them, they have lots of readers that we can consider as fans. And as a perk, they get invited to events and given envelope afterwards... that envelope contains a token.

I have couple of blogs, there blogs are on travel, health, wellbeing and wellness niches, however, I have never tried blogging in lifestyle niches. I think lifestyle blogs have higher chances of making money as various earning methods are available. If you are a celebrated blogger, you can even earn extra money for writing about services and products (reviews commissioned from businesses).
It is profitable to become a lifestyle blogger, however, you should never choose this niche just because it is lucrative. Your niche should be the one that you are comfortable with.

You are right Vinaya, Being comfortable with what to share is an important point to consider before choosing a niche, Like personally I would not feel okay with sharing my private life on social media.
I think you also have to be good at what you choose :-)

I have nothing against them especially if they focus on just detailing their travel experiences and giving out travel tips for viewers. I find those blogs helpful as long as they don't give too much negative criticism since it ruins the atmosphere of a blog that there is negativity. Although there is nothibg bad about being honest but even if you are popular, blogging about complaints when your blog is focused on travels just gives a bad reputation for a blog, in my opinion.

Right. They even give out reviews to certain products and places and that is really nice. It also looks like they really like what they are doing which is probably why they can dish out a lot of quality content their viewers can appreciate.

Lifestyle blogging is cool and easy because basically living your life no technicality into it. And also it is unique because each blogger will definitely have different lifestyle, there's a chance for everyone to stand out and get his or her own unique visitors. It is on TV that we usually get lifestyle reality show, like the Kardashians. So bringing it to blogging will be so cool.
it will be more like reality lifestyle blogging.

Lifestyle blogging is one of the most popular types of blogging because it always seems so much fun and they get to do a lot of travel. Not everyone can do this type of blogging as you would need the resources and material to make your blog stand out from so many popular blogs out there.

I think lifestyle blogging is a good niche. And it has power to expand beyond the bloggers capacity. I know many people who have started very small and then expanded their lifestyle. In fact their capacity to change revenue and then cover more topics is something worth thinking about. I can tell you that lifestyle blogging is no easy task. I guess hard work and image and video format is the way to go with lifestyle bloggers.

As long as they love what they are doing, they should keep doing it. They even earn money from it which is a nice bonus. If they are passionate at what they do, I have nothing against them.

I generally don't like to read/watch a lot of lifestyle blogs/vlogs because of what you said, they're usually similar. Just a bunch of people traveling, talking about their day while I sit here and watch as how they live their perfect lives. I'm happy for them to be able to do that and get paid for it, but it's just not entertaining for me, it's like listening to my good looking friend and pretending to like conversations about her daily life.

Lifestyle blogs still have a lot to do with life clearly, which is where i think so many of us get mixed up. But these blogs are a lot more focused on personal interests as opposed to personal stories.

My favorite theme of blogs is still technology but I do admit that I read some lifestyle blogs - mainly the ones that talk about traveling. Why do I enjoy those? because it's everybody's dream being able to travel around, see completely new places, meet new cultures and more. So when you read that sort of blog you will feel like you're a part of that experience. It sucks you in! I wouldn't say that it's unfair to us normal mortals that work 8+ hour shifts, it is just their style of life. I am sure that it's not all as glamorous as it might seem though. I am pretty happy with myself and where I am. Even if somebody offered me to go travel and do a blog about it, it'd decline.

So great all of your feedback guys! I was really curious about hearing your opinions. Yes, I think they have cool jobs and some of them are really good doing what they do. You can even see all the hard work behind all of that videos and pictures and all the investment they have to do in cameras and all that stuff. I enjoy whatching some of their videos... I think it's a good way of enterntainment.

Life style is a niche. Like any other niche, there are people exploiting it. It's not my favorite type of blogs and quite frankly I find it rather useful. But it's the law of the market. If there are people selling there are people buying it. As long as people follow these types of things there will be more and more bloggers.

We only live once, and we must live a worthy one. I like lifestyle blogging. It shows me what's happening around me and there's is something new always .
The only disappointment is majority of lifestyle bloggers lie very bad! They only care about their traffic thus lying their way into riches. Lol

I enjoy reading lifestyle blogs that are more or less within my lifestyle range. I'm following one, actually, and it's not all bed of roses for her at all. She blogs for her audience as much as she does for herself. She travels and tries our restaurants and make a review on them, but she also writes about her struggle as a work at home mom whose husband is working abroad. She shares productivity apps and finance decisions she has made - no affiliate link whatsoever. She's working as a regular writer at day and moonlights as a blogger and real estate agent on weekends and she tells her readers how she juggles her time. I just like the way she shares her feelings and stuff. You'd see the ads on her blog but they're neatly placed. It's easy to see the contrast between this lifestyle blogger and other bluffing bloggers on this niche.

I guess I would say more power to the lifestyle bloggers if they can do this type of thing with integrity and passion. I know that I would not be able to "fake" a living for money--I am not ale to just be inauthentic for money, and I think that living like that does catch up to people, like that old saying, "The truth will always out". However, there are those who find a way to merge their passion with their pocketbook, and I am envious and appreciative of these individuals. I am working towards that lifestyle every day, I hope--after all, if you get paid to do what you love, it is not a job, it is not a career, it is a daily reward for your hard work and accomplishments which can fulfill your heart.

Most of those lifestyle blogger are living a fake life. However, there are some who make a living on it. But it is really hard to start compared to other types of blogging.

Blog is as like as a daily dairy. You cna write any thing on your won blog. You can make your blog private or some commercial or full commercial. To earn from blog your content should need to be 100% unique and you have to add affiliation program on your blog. After you apply for any affiliation - you will also start to earn money. For life style related content- the best affiliate program is Amazon Affiliation. You can also give a try to become a millionaire.

Thanks

Well it's hardly fair that some people have regular 8 hour jobs and some get paid for living the dream - but let's be realistic, who would want to read a blog of a person doing the same thing in the same place over and over again? I know I wouldn't, and I'm one of them. I would, however, be more interested in reading about someone travelling somewhere far away or somewhere very expensive - those are realistically interesting things that attract traffic. I want to see something I don't have to go through every day, and what I see every day is people working an 8 hour job, including me. So while not necessarily "fair", it's just how it is and honestly, it does make sense.

Visiting lifestyle blogs is not one of my favorite things to do, maybe I've checked the wrong ones but, some bloggers use that space to pretend to be someone else, so it looks kind of plastic. Others use it to sell merchandise or publicity. What is really interesting about a lifestyle blog is the story telling, to discover an interesting side of that person, not to read every break up with their partners, or long boring events.

I have some relatives that would be perfect for. They are always taking exotic trips and really living the life of Riley. the guy posts a lot on Facebook. I don't know whether they have any blog or anything pertaining to their lifestyle anywhere else, but they should!

Life style blogging is cool to me, if you have the resources ,time and passion for it.I don't think it just okay to start a lifestyle blog because it money spinning or you just want to get and follow the bandwagon.

Personally,I only blog about things I'm passionate about being lucrative or not.

Like you, I can also blog only about my passion because it is not easy to be writing about something that you are not fond of. I once got an invitation to join a blogger on fashion but I declined because I am not conscious about fashion and I don’t really care about the trends in fashion. With the lifestyle blog, I guess I can relate to that but it is not my passion so I wouldn’t dare blog about it.

I think some of them provide their audience with useful info. For instance, I can tell you I follow one guy from nashville, and thanks to his blog, I learned about food tours. And after I checked one nashville food tour, I was genuinely surprised, so I'm glad I decided to give it a try. And in general, I managed to find many cool places, thanks to lifestyle bloggers.
