Getting some high quality backlinks might seem like a daunting task, and it would be if you weren't reading this discussion right now. A lot of people may be obtaining high quality links with some of the methods I'll be discussing here and they may not even know they're doing it lol.
Trying to get some good backlinks will take time, but it's definitely worth the investment. What takes even more time is building enough of these backlinks to start seeing a spike in the rankings. You'll feel like you haven't been doing anything right with these links and then all of a sudden you'll notice that your rankings are starting to climb It's not an overnight process, but if you stick with it, you'll be granted higher rankings by the search engines.
Quick Tip: Go over your current backlink profile and see what is already there. You won't want to be posting your 10th backlink on bobswoodworkingshop.com because it won't have as much of a value. Your time is better spent placing links on websites that you haven't visited already To look over your backlink profile you can use something like openlinkprofiler or ahrefs to see everything.
Make sure to record everything that you already have, add it to a spreadsheet or something so you can keep track of what you'll be doing.
Method 1: List your top 5 posts
Listing your top 5 posts and save them to a .txt file or your spreadsheet will allow you to have a quick list you can copy and paste into an email. This list will be use to send to niche related websites and see if they'd like to "Share" your content. If they decide to share the post on your website, they will essentially be linking back to you. This will get you a nice little high quality backlink aimed right back at your website
Method 2: Write Long Content
Writing content that is 1,500+ words on your blog or static pages will attract backlinks. I don't think of how I'm obtaining backlinks through content because they usually don't come in as quick as I hope, but they do come in People will link to long content as long as it's written well and informative, so get started on writing and once you're ranked you might get some additional links with little effort
Method 3: Guest Posting
Now the majority of us know what guest posting is, but for those who don't, you're basically getting your link on a niche related website by adding quality content to their pages. It's a very popular way to get some high quality backlinks, but it doesn't always work the way you'd like. You'll have to contact 100 websites in order to get 10 to respond and out of those 10, you'll be able to post to 1-3 of them for free. Now you can go with he paid guest posts, but it's better to go with the free ones first All you'll do is pitch them an article idea and let them know you'd gladly guest post it for them if they'd like. Some of the websites will shun you and never respond while others will be all for it. Don't get bummed out if you send out 10 emails and don't get a single response. You'll have to work on how you contact people and make it flawless in order to increase the chances of them responding to you
Method 4: Pitch Your Own Content
This like reverse guest posting because you'll still get a link on the niche related website, but you won't be posting the content yourself. Instead you'll be contacting the niche related website and show them you already have a post on your website about what they're talking about. You'll ask them if they can link to your page within the content and that will result in a high quality backlink. Usually you'll get turned down when you ask something like this, but there are a few that will do it for free or a small fee
QUICK TIP: Be patient when you're doing this type of linking. You may send out your first wave of emails and not hear from anyone for a few weeks. People don't log on every day and check their websites emails, so don't expect them to all get back to you in a timely manner lol
In Conclusion:
You will always need backlinks, so focus on the high quality ones and you will always be good no matter what Google does to it's algorithm. Backlinks are here to stay, so get the good ones while you still can

This is why I love to get created, I have teammates that focus on getting links the old fashion ways, outreaching till they can't outreach anymore! For a few months now I have a new model, doing the unexpected.
Depending on the niche I just boldly contact people, organizations or other businesses for creative businesses proposals that also involve link building. Like, for example, on a medical niche, I tend to contact universities, offering them free web work in exchange for a "thank you link" to my client's website.
Point is you also need to get creative and bold. You'll miss a lot of big opportunities by not trying stuff out of your league! Nice share Razzy. Getting backlinks is a hard business, from my point of view it is probably the single most frustrating thing in SEO, it takes a lot of time and a lot of factors are involved and you need to get right to make everything work out in the end.
