Why influencer marketing is all the rage right now
When you hear "Influencer" you think of someone that knows what they're talking about within a specific niche. With indluencer marketing, you're paying that influencer to push your products or information in order to get more followers, likes, shares, sales, readers, sign ups, etc. Influencer marketing is a newer technique to bring in sales compared to all the other ones out there such as PPC and Social Media Marketing.
When you're working with an influencer you can get your products or website in front of a massive following. This following isn't yours and they're not loyal to you, but they are loyal to the person they're following and that's why this is pretty great You pay what the influencer quotes you and then they will post X amount of times during the week or month to help you build your own following or generate sales for you. It's pretty simple lol.
What people don't know about influencer marketing is that it actually helps you out more than just generating direct sales. I'll list a few things that you will benefit from and not just direct sales.
- You will notice that it's easier to brand your business and website.
- You will notice an increase in the SERPs due to the links and shares you're getting.
- You will get traffic from random sources due to people telling their friends about you.
Now these are just few things, there are likely dozens more that will pop up once you start doing some marketing like this lol
So what does influencer marketing cost?
Well that's kind of difficult to answer because it really depends on your niche and how big of a following your influencer has. For example, I was talking to an influencer in my niche that had 320,000+ followers on Instagram and they were only going to charge me $20 a week to post 3 times a week for me on their profile. Now that's a steal no matter the niche, but it seems to be the going rate for the one I'm in (and that's why I'm not sharing it
). Now you could be in the fashion niche where someone will have 100,000 followers and want $500 a week to post for you 3 times a week. I'm sure you'll still get some sales, but is it worth the $500 a week, or $26,000 a year to advertise with them on their profile?
How do you find influencers?
Well that's actually pretty simple. You just look through your favorite app and search for your target keywords. Find the people who have the most followers and contact them directly to see if they offer any sort of promotion. They will usually get back to pretty quick since they're fairly active and some will say no while others will say yes. Figure out how much they are charging per week to post for you a few times and also add your link in their BIO (for Instagram) and if it's worth it to you, try it out
You can also go to websites that have influencers list their profiles and you can cherry pick that way. You will likely have to pay more per influencer because the platform will usually take XX% from each sale. The Influencer knows they want to make a certain amount per week, so they will increase their prices on these platforms in order to get that amount after the platform takes their fees.
In Conclusion:
Influencer marketing is on the rise, so get in while it's still "cheap" compared to other types of marketing. I'm seen some websites blow up in sales simply because they paid one influencer a few hundred bucks to post for them a few times a week during the month. They then took those profits and paid for more influencers, which resulted in even more sales
You don't have to limit yourself to just Instagram, I was just using that as an example because I'm currently searching through my niche for top influencers on there lol

I gotta give it a try myself Thanks for the detailed information. I honestly think that influencer marketing will explode even more in 2017 and it won't stop. It is already being widely used and rising steadily. I mean, why wouldn't you try to work hand-in-hand with somebody that has a huge follower base? You can get quite a lot from such relationships and this way of marketing. I gotta give it a try myself :p
