For all the SEO enthusiasts out there, I have a special announcement that may get you all very interested: An SEO Documentary / Movie.
Bassicly the story of SEO and organic traffic will be presented by the SEO industry most prolific figures. And I'm referring to people like Rand Fishkin, Jill Whalen, Danny Sullivan, Barry Schwartz, Rae Hoffman and Brett Tabke.
Here is the trailer:
I'm surprised that this video only got 8k something views by the time I'm writing this post. The trailer seems pretty amateur like and doesn't strive me as high quality, never the less, I would be more than happy to listen to all these experts and long career SEOs talk about the beginnings of SEO as well as the future of everything and how things will evolve in the following years.
I consider the SEO industry needed this documentary/movie. There was and still is a lot of confusion about what SEO really is and what exactly an SEO does. To be fair here, SEO is pretty hard to understand by the regular folk, you need to explain a lot of factors to give a proper explanation, I personally know from experience how hard this can be, most of my family and friends have no idea what I do and what SEO is. Most people understand the basic idea of ranking higher inside search engines, but the process of getting there is a total mystery and seen as "magic" giving the whole thing a "hack" or "hacker" orientated process.
The movie will be release this June 2017, this: https://ignitevisibility.com/seo-movie/ being the official page of everything I've talked about.
I'm really glad Rand Fishkin is part of this documentary, he is my favorite SEO and online guru of all time. This guy always tells the truth and puts everything into a package that is easy to digest and understand. I love his white board Friday's videos and no SEO out there should miss any episode!
So what do you think about the upcoming SEO movie? Do you think it was about time that the SEO industry should get a proper documentary? I believe so and hope it will be a good one.
What the hell? Wow, an actual SEO movie? never thought I'd see one especially because of the points that Mike listed. I definitely think that the large reason why they even made this documentary is that they want attention. Attention always equals publicity and that equals an increase of traffic. I do recognize some of those names but the list seems very long... how will they cover all of them or their stories in one documentary? Or maybe they will be in more of a ''guest commentator'' sort of role?
I will wait and see when it actually gets released to cast my judgment and whether I am a fan or not. What the hell? I never thought there would be a movie about SEO. I hope I will get a chance to watch it and learn more about SEO. I hope this is a good one and will really let more people understand SEO better. I doubt you will hear a lot of new things though. There are already many great SEO articles, videos and what not out there, and I bet this has nothing to do with SEO advising of any sort. It's either a documentary how they started with SEO, how it helped them and such. More of an interview than documentary I'd say.I doubt you will hear a lot of new things though. This movie looks very helpful for those people who are amateurs or new on this matter. I don't think it will bore you if you want to know about SEO. I think it is a great idea to explain how SEO works and all the importance that has on a business. The movie explains what an SEO is and what an SEO does in a practical and interesting way. Although this is an old discussion, my opinion about the movie is that it is beneficial to beginners in the SEO industry. I have been going to this site for almost a year now and I’d say that I have learned a lot about SEO methods that were alien to me before. In fact, I was avoiding discussions about SEO when I was new in this site because it does not appeal to me and it looks very technical. But now I appreciate the discussions where I learned SEO from the posts and comments.Although this is an old discussion, my opinion about the movie is that it is beneficial to beginners in the SEO industry.
