Google Analytics Gender Demographics just can't be right?

So how does Google Analytics know the gender of the person visiting my website?

I am totally confused by this because for my mommy blog it shows me that the majority of my visitors are men and this just can't be right!

Could it be that Google can only pick up the gender of the owner of the computer or the gender of the person the mobile contract is made out to?

So perhaps the computer and the internet connection is paid for by a man but his wife is using the computer?

Can anyone clarify this for me, since I am a little bit confused by it.

I am not sure if that prediction detail is accurate at all and i was wandering same thing, specially when it comes age groups of you your visitors (on some other analytics)... However don't be surprised even if it's almost accurate stats. It doesn't necessarily mean that moms taking most of the care about babies Google Analytics Gender Demographics just can Nowadays you can see that dads doing much more then 15-20 years ago, when it comes to housekeeping, cooking, baby care etc...
Previously i owned large recipes / cooking website and majority of visitors were male as well, while on my fashion blog i see it shows up that woman are really leading Google Analytics Gender Demographics just can
In any case, i don't think it's really accurate, but i would take it as prediction only!

Thanks Abid, yes I know that there is quite trend now with men getting more involved with parenting. My husband is very involved with our kids.

The thing is that most of my visitors come from my Facebook page and I talk to the ladies, most are moms. Yes I have a few dad followers but certainly the majority by far are women.

As far as I know Google relies on the fact that if the user has a Gmail account or doesn't.
It may be that most wives out there don't really have or own a Gmail account and they are using the husband account when using their mobile device or are just logged in as their husband when searching for stuff from a laptop or desktop. This is the only rational explanation I can think off + the number of men that indeed search from stuff online on mommy stuff...

It's guesstimate. For example some guy can share the profile with family members. And google will take all the search history belongs to the guy. So such observation on googles part can't be true. And we have to find out if there is any truth to what is being said about the gender and the age. Often those search queries are not true at all. We have to find that part out ourselves.
