So a lot of people want to start up businesses that target a global audience because you have the chance of getting more clients and turning a bigger profit. I would suggest that you don't forget the little guys in your local area because they will usually give you just enough income to push you into the stratosphere and a few more perks
Now local clients usually won't be able to pay as much as big corporations on the other side of the world. Well, that's true unless you live in silicon valley and get some huge tech companies to sign you up for your services
As many of you know, I run an SEO and Online Marketing company that can do anything for our clients from registering new domain names to pulling in profits from the search engines. Our main goals are Registration --> Design --> Make Money. I have had plenty of bigger clients over the years paying me more than I could have imagined for the type of work I consider easy since I've been doing it so long, but that doesn't mean I can forget about the small guys.
Why shouldn't you forget about the tiny local companies? Because they are more grateful when you end up helping them out A big corporation may see a 5% increase in their overall sales because of your work, but that's not huge for them. A small business in your local area getting an increase in sales could mean that you've tripled their income due to the tricks of the trade you've learned over the years These smaller companies will be extatic and plaster positive reviews wherever they can because now you're making their dreams of riches come true. The ones who are the happiest are the companies who are in a slump and take a chance hiring you to help them out and you over perform and help them out. These companies share your company/website with friends and family as well as plaster your URL wherever they can
So in the end, get those small businesses as clients even if you don't profit. Do the best you can on their projects to help them out and they will treat you well
