What is the best setup for online marketing professionals?

I've been going through a bunch of websites to try and find a new computer for my every day online marketing needs, but I haven't been impressed with anything under $1,000 What is the best setup for online marketing professionals?

Right now I'm using a 17" laptop with an i7 processor because my desktop decided to fry itself which basically made it a very large paper weight. I was able to save a few things out of it, but I get to use it's demise as an excuse to upgrade lmao What is the best setup for online marketing professionals?

I'm not opposed to laptops for my every day work because I can be very mobile with them and I can bring my work with me, in digital form, if I have to go meet with a client. Meeting clients doesn't happen very often because I work with people from all over the world and they're usually not within driving distance lol.

I was looking at a beefed up gaming laptop that was around $1,000 and was pretty impressive. But do I want to get it or not? What is the best setup for online marketing professionals?

Here's the one I was looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16834332106

Lenovo 17.3" Y700-17ISK (80Q000BYUS)
Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
16 GB Memory
512 GB SSD 1 TB HDD
Windows 10 Home
64-Bit Gaming Laptop

Now as a lot of you know, I'm known for doing online marketing, but what you may not know is that I'm pretty horrible with hardware lmao What is the best setup for online marketing professionals? Do you think the above laptop is good or should I keep shopping around for something else?

The laptop above is definitely better than the one I have, but I don't really know if I should drop $1,000 on a laptop. I guess it would be a work expense, but since I'm the CEO it still comes out of my pocket sort of lol.

All input and suggestions will be helpful What is the best setup for online marketing professionals?

Thanks!

The laptop is perfect and pretty much overkill for any online marketer, you'll have way more than you actually need. Yet again its always good to have the extra power.

In my opinion, any new generation i5 or even i3 with a minimum of 8GB or RAM and an SSD will do the trick very well for online marketing. Unless you need to use Photoshop a lot or video editors you won't feel you lack in power.
Anyways, your configuration is great, go with it all the way!
I currently have an older i3 with SSD and 8GB of ram and I'm doing very well.

LOL Razzy I would have taken you for knowing your hardware. I am not very clued up so I can't help you at all. I do exactly the same thing as you when I need to buy new equipment, I post here or ask someone I trust like my sister.
Usually when I need a new laptop I send her an email saying I need a new laptop and asking her to send me the details I need. She just replies with brand and model and off I go and buy it!

That way I don't have to think and she gets it right every time.

First thing I saw on the page was "OUT OF STOCK". Darn!

Anyway, I agree with the above statements, the laptop is basically overkill for online marketing. I would be perfectly okay with 6GB RAM, 80GB HDD, Wireless Keyboard or Wireless Mouse, with a Intel I Series CPU (preferably quad core). From my own experience, I have never even met the HDD cap, so 1TB is insane, but I need the RAM to be at least 6GB worth.

Now, since you speak about meeting clients, which is a rare thing for you but you also want to be mobile.. here's a slight downfall.. The weight of the laptop is 7.70 lbs, that's like carrying around a newborn baby.. that's a lot of tech weight, sir. Do you really want to carry around 7.7 lbs of electronics? I know I wouldn't. Try to keep the laptop weight under 5 lbs, your back will thank you later.

Don't forget Chromebooks, too, they are cheap and you can get the exact specifications, slightly different for less than $1000. Broaden your horizons. Also, check out Amazon, they have a lot of deals on laptops at odd times..

Such a laptop would work just fine for both gaming and anything IM-related. - With that kind of power, I hope you'll try to play some games and not only use it to check your emails though. ;)

If you want to develop a career in online marketing, the first requirement is a computer. A laptop will always be better than a desktop computer because of portability and battery back up. You also need a power backup plan in case there is power outage, or have to remain outdoors for a long time. Having a spare battery will always come handy. You need a good internet connection. When you are subscribing to the internet connection, you should never compromise on speed.
I am using HP notebook, it has 1 TB hard disk drive and i7 intel core processor.

I am not very good with technical description of computers but my suggestion is a laptop. My official computer issued by our office is a laptop some 5 years ago. That made me realize that the laptop is very convenient with its portability. And although the desktop is more powerful than the laptop, it depends on what software you are going to run regularly. For online marketing business, maybe a standard laptop will do.
