Apple wants to move the production of iPhones in the US
Some reports are inquiring that Apple may move the entire production of iPhones to the United States and apparently the already contacted US manufacturers like Pegatron and Foxconn to make this a reality.

This may come as a result of Donald Trump being the president-elect who has previously stated that Apple should move its manufacturing process in the US.

Of course, a US production of iPhones will mean bigger prices on the finished products. Currently, iPhone components are made all over the world, but a huge part of them are made in Asia: South Korea, Japan, and China being their biggest manufacturers, with China having the majority, therefore why the iPhone is labeled "Made In China".

What do you think? Is this part of Trump's plan to get more jobs back to the US? Would Apple fans mind paying more for their products made in the US?
Will the quality of the iPhones increase just because the manufacturing and assembly will be done in the US?

Nice reply Mike. LOL-ed on the part with Chinese having small fingers, haha.

I agree, maybe Apple fans won't mind an increased price, after all the vast majority of iPhone buyers are people in the United States and the ones that are outside the US will probably gonna appreciate the fact that their new gadget says "Made in California" or something like that, another reason to brag over the type of smartphones they are using.

Now that I think about it this may have an actual economic impact as the label "Made in China" is greatly frowned upon by many people outside China.

I'm beginning to think it's a marketing ploy. Donald Trump wants to bring jobs back to America, and Apple is a very popular company who mostly uses offshore manufacturers to create their products. So I'm coming to the conclusion it's a strategy placed by the marketing representatives something. I never think a company is actually going to bring jobs back to the United States unless it actually happens, because it costs so much less to do it overseas like in China than to have Americans create the product. So I will believe this when I see it.

I could see why they would say they are moving jobs back to the United States, probably to gain some type of positive news or something. But as I said I'll believe it when I see it!

Well, I'll compare this with Social Media services. If you bought YouTube Views or SoundCloud Plays, those views or plays wouldn't be of less quality if you bought them from a freelancer who lived in Pakistan, compared to views or plays you bought from a freelancer who lived in the US, right?

One thing however, that most likely would make a huge difference is the discussions you could have with the freelancer, due to them not being native in English. Quality in itself wouldn't be affected if you're asking me, but the price would. iPhones are already expensive and IF they started to make them in the US, they will become even more expensive.

This is a good development that I think will benefit the US. In the olden days, even the production of cars are dependent on the US until the time came for the diversification that factories started getting out of the country in favor of more profits. That caught the US flat-footed and only realized it after the recession. Anyway, making the iPhones in the US will certainly create more employment not only the direct hires but also the by-product like the deliveries and outlet stores.
