Does SHORT Titles result in MORE sales?

I have noticed that in almost all freelance even seoclerks itself, there is a statement that says that it is recommended that one makes his title short as ; SHORT Title result in MORE sales. when creating a gig/service.
But i want to know if this is truly RIGHT? Has anyone experience it?
Besides writing in short titles doesn't really enable a seller to truly and fully express what he intends to offer majorly in his gig service.

But my MAIN question is this; Does short title really result in MORE sales,?,..if so ,.why? if not, why?.
Thank you.

Hey chetaseo,
I would say that shorter titles are better and I'll explain why I believe they are.

First of all, if you're using power words in your titles, you'll be able to reach way better results. I've been using one or two power words in my titles for a very long time and I still experiment with titles daily. It's quite fascinating to see how one simple word can change your results radically.

Let me share some more examples:
If you're looking to bring a positive vibe and to give your readers a pep talk:

Amazing - Blissful - Breathtaking - Jaw-dropping - Mind-blowing - Stunning - Surprising - Uplifting

If you're looking to "start a riot" and make people angry, or to show your anger:

Abuse - Arrogant - Bullshit - Bully - Coward - Disgusting - Lies - Obnoxious - Preposterous

If you want to grab the attention of money savers or money makers:

Bargain - Discount - Extra - Free - Gift - Massive - Quadruple - Six-figure - Whopping

That being said, shorter titles are easier to read and we all know that we have only a few seconds to get people interested in what we offer. With proper use of power words within our titles, we'll increase the chances of making a greater impact on the people who's reading our titles. Which basically mean that they'll be able to read more of the title or perhaps even the whole title, if you use a shorter title.

So I'd say, shorter titles with the use of power words.

I think that short and sweet always works best. There is no need to give detailed information in the title. The information should then be provided in the advert or service description. The title just needs to be catchy and captivating. Basically at one glance the person who sees it should feel inclined to click on it so as to learn more about it. The words that are used in the title need to be well chosen. A short title that inspires a call to action is what works best in most cases and I believe it contributes to more clicks and more sales.

Depend on the service, if you think your service can't be explained just with a few words than for all means make it longer, if you think your service is simple enough so it can be described in a short title, go with that.

Hi chetaseo thanks for your nice question. Yes! I believe also short title may result more sell. As per as I know there has two main reasons. Title is very importance to attract generally to all clients. And most of the buyer looking service at once when service display on service pages and when they get information expected service by the title than they may click for full description. if you use long title, service title will not display correctly on service pages and meaning will not fully explain what you tried to say. But, if you use short and full sentence on service, buyer can understand directly just after few word reading.

Secondly title also importance for SEO affect. You may know good and short title always friendly for SEO. For example: 10-70 characters long, including spaces tile well suggested for SEO.

I would try and be as concise as possible while conveying the correct message. Adding power words will certainly be very effective and yes if you can have a 5 or 6 word title, get your message across clearly and include a power word BONUS.

But sometimes it just won't work out that way. Sometimes conveying the right message will turn out to be a long title.

Then like Ajlancer has said you need to look at the length of the title for SEO purposes too. I recently read that mobile search will be taking priority now with SEO and for mobile search the shorter the title the better, so that is certainly something that needs to be taken into account now too!

In as much as I don't believe in that notion that short titles result in most sales. I think that most buyers are more interested in what the products/services that you offer to them are going to do in their lives and if you're able to cover the reasons with your short title, then it would result in big sales. That is just the reason for such.
