Habitica App iOS / Android.
It's all good setting reminders for your to-do tasks. Whether for something you need to do or want to do. But there is only so much fun you can have actually setting reminders and alerts and that's not usually half as much as actually doing or completing those tasks, goals or chores or fun things you want to do on a certain date at a specific time that you want to be reminded of.
Well
Habitica is an app that understands this problem that puts off some people from using to-do apps like those ones here. It's been designed to get you into getting things done by integrating to-do lists into an
RPG style game where your success depends on whether you complete those tasks or not. You can create tasks which will be quests that you have to achieve!
When you set a reminder or task and then complete them, you'll
earn gold for that which can be used to
buy weapons, mounts and outfits and other
upgrades which help you to
fight off and defend
monsters. But forget a task and you'll loose health. And all your base will be owned and nobody wants that! So to prevent your based becoming owned, you will need to complete those to-do tasks you need, to-do.
Want a bit more enthusiasm to play and get your tasks completed? Play with your friends! Invite them to the game, get them to install it and you can team up on the task monsters you have to fight. Because in life there's many things that can need to get done or reminded about.
Habitica lets you create tasks from personal, to work related, leisure and health related etc. You can think of everyone that collaborates with you as teammates that can independently do and share to-do task/quests to complete.
Want have a glass of water at a certain time every day? That's a quest!
Got to call someone at a certain time or meet someone somewhere? That's a quest!
Got to write a letter or make a post on your blog or to your social media sites? That's a quest!
By creating tasks/quests for everything, where your success as a player in the game is tied in directly to whether you achieve those tasks/quests or not is a great and fun way to make sure you do!

I can certainly see how making a game out of your tasks and to do lists would be a really cool way to go about things. I think that I just have to give this Habitica a go.
I currently don't use any app to schedule my life or to organize all my tasks. I just wing it as I go along... often ignoring all the tedious big tasks that I hate. Oh my gosh Habitica sounds really cool! I am just wondering can you set different quests to have a different weight? You know like sending in your tax return (UUGGHHHH) is much more important and tedious than making a phone call or drinking a glass of water every day. So perhaps you can set it so you get Tax Ninja status if you complete all your tax returns on time?
