Google Analytics launches Automatic Insights

Google Analytics announced on their blog on Friday that they have launched Automatic Insights on their Google Analytics mobile app and now what would have taken hours to discover will now be available in a matter of minutes.

From what I read and understand over 50% of online marketers are using Google Analytics and most of these users don't come close to using all the functionalities. People tend to stick to the same types of reporting. So now GA will be more like a brain and start to put the information that you most want right in front of you.

In addition to that it will become more intelligent over time, so it will give you more indepth insights into trends and anomalities so you can take advantage of opportunities that you never might have been aware of.

For example it will tell you which products are experiencing the most growth and it will also tell you the channels that are having the most conversions, and where the highest returns are....

It sounds like I need to start using more functionalities LOL

I agree, a lot of people are using Google Analytics but few actually use Google Analytics to its full potential! I don't one single person that can handle and know everything about Google Analytics and all that GA has to offer.
Seriously GA is very complex if you actually take the time to interpret and filter everything properly. I mean how many of you have an updated spam filter? That's right, very few!

I only recently started to develop a spam filter list because I was getting tired of using the "exclude" tool to manually exclude spam every time I was taking a look at the organic traffic. Sure it may take a couple of minutes when we are talking about just one website, but what would you do when you have 20+ websites to check?

Yeah Cristian, I know exactly what you mean. I have 3 websites and all I really look at is the real time analytics (yes silly I know but I get a kick out of people being on my websites) and then just where my traffic came from.

That is it really. I have seen that there are ways to set goals and to see what conversions there are but I have no clue how to set that all up!

Spam filter? Umm well no.

I saw something about this and have not had a chance to check it out. It sounds interesting and could help with marketing and sales. I am already thinking that soon we will all have to find long tail "Sales" keywords if this data is available for everyone. I haven't logged into my Google analytics account for a couple weeks and was wondering if this data readily available for the free versions or do you have to purchase an upgraded version of analytics?

Oh I don't really know. I haven't really checked it out my side... everything still seems pretty much the same to me and I use the free version.

I don't do much when it comes to Google Analytics, I just go and see how much traffic I have and where it came from, and of course I look at my bounce rate and how many pages are viewed and how long my visitors stay on my website.

I know that there is probably loads more I can do with GA but I haven't really ever bothered to look around or learn more. I guess maybe that is why they are adding things like this.

Oh no, sounds like we are getting closer to artificial intelligence, and a robot takeover. Anyone a Battlestar Galactica fan? Lol.

Seems like a good move on their part. I really don't use analytics that often, have in the past but really don't care for it as the websites I have aren't that big enough to include stats.
