Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
I have posted a number of times about contradicting information from different people and I have just come across a topic that might be nice to debate.
Quote recently, in one of the discussion threads here I was told by a member that pinging new or updated content was not necessary and I am sure that the recommendation was just to Fetch As Google in Google Search Console.
Now today I have been told by another member in one of the discussions that it is not necessary to Fetch As Google but pinging is the way to go.
So what do you think? Is pinging the way to go or do you Fetch as Google?
Or maybe like me you do both?

You're not going to get knocked for pinging too much, like some people think. If your website was devalued because it was pinged too much, I could ping all my competitors non stop using PingFarm.com and get their websites blacklisted lol.
As long as your website is set up with good interlinking, you'll be fine. Ping a few pages and do a few other things in order to get the spiders coming in to index
Just by posting on facebook, google+, twitter, etc. about your new content will get your content seen within the day since the search engines are always stalking big social platforms. Just think of where the search engines are looking and post there. Think of it as fishing
