Using Reddit for Finding Freelance Work
Did you know you can use Reddit to find work as a freelancer?
I'll share this little gem with you which is something I've recently started doing myself.
Just go to Reddit and search for freelance! Visit those Subreddits that are about it and you'll find people posting there jobs they need doing. You can leave a comment on them and tell them you're available for hire and leave your email or website or social profile for them to hire you. Try not to post affiliate links! You may get ghosted!
Most Reddit users are very against any kind of self-promotion. Not so much on Subreddits about freelancing as that's how they work but in general so try to go about it in a way that doesn't look spammy and post only meaningful/valuable comments.
But you can be really clever here and if you're first on the ball and the person needs it fast and you make a good comment you can get hired fast and will have a better chance of getting hired too. Sort of like when you are the first person to bid on someone's WTB here on #SEOClerks.
Two recommended Reddit Subreddits for Freelancers to find work on are /r/freelance/ (33,929 subs) and /r/freelance_forhire/ (4,524 subs). But if you also search around you can find other Subreddits in YOUR niche with many subs/readers in them.
So just search on Reddit for the skills you have. Sort by new posts and browse through any that are of people looking for what you do or even ways in which you can plug yourself without it looking like an actual plug!
And through continued use and perseverance you should be able to snag a few more clients to hire you and get work with.
