For a lot of my websites I'll have to pay for a domain, hosting and a premium wordpress theme.
Now if you're going with an ecommerce type website I would recommend using Shopify.com
Here's the costs of shopify:
- Domain: This will still cost $0.99 to $20.
- Hosting: Included in your shopify plan that you sign up for. The best plan is $29 because you won't need the super advanced features of the higher priced plans right away.
- Premium Theme: $130 to $180. These themes are much higher priced for some reason. I think it's because there aren't as many themes for their platform compared to Wordpress where you can browse thousands. You can use a free theme and customize if in a day, I do this a lot of times if I am just testing an ecommerce website The free themes for shopify still look really good unlike the free themes for wordpress.
Like Mike said, it all depends on what exactly you want. For a lot of my websites I'll have to pay for a domain, hosting and a premium wordpress theme.

Domain: $0.99 to $20 depending on where you get it and if you purchase the privacy protection.[/*]
Hosting: $3 to $X,XXX.00 per month. I would suggest getting a small hosting account for a few dollars a month until you need to increase it. Make sure the hosting is quick, don't buy from a crappy service.[/*]
Premium Theme: $50 to $75. Most of the themes are pretty detailed and extensively coded. I've bought themes that have taken me weeks to configure to my specifications because they are so detailed. It's a good thing that it took that long, it makes my site look super fancy lol :D[/*]
Now if you're going with an ecommerce type website I would recommend using Shopify.com Here's the costs of shopify:

Domain: This will still cost $0.99 to $20.[/*]
Hosting: Included in your shopify plan that you sign up for.
