Magento alternative as a eCommerce software?

A few years ago we started using Magento for our customers that wanted websites on eCommerce. Magento is a pretty complete platform, has integrated pretty much everything you need, just like Wordpress but way more complex in my opinion.
You also have the possibility of adding "extensions" just like Wordpress plugins.

From an SEO perspective, it is pretty great and but it lacks in good free extensions.
What is your opinion about Magento and what similar platform eCommerce would you recommend?

Oh I've only ever worked on Wordpress and I used Woocommerce for my online store. Surely if you are not using a Wordpress website you are limiting yourself?

I am very interested in what everyone else says as I've never worked with anything else.

As alternative, i would also go with WordPress with WooCommerce plugin, as both are expandable with numerous addons (plugins) to create stunning online shop. You stated that Magento can handlelot more products, but i never seen any limitation on WooCommerce, but i have seen a lot of huge web stores with thousands items listed on their websites using WooCommerce and with some speed optimizations done, they are very fast too. So i don't know what reason is that you wouldn't accept this as alternative

I came across some of the drop shipper websites who use magento. And found that they are the one who are making use of the eCommerce software options through sync from storehouse type. And that can lead to more of solutions in case of the woocommerce if it had such settings. So some people may use the shopify for the stock related information. I guess I have to compare the total cost these days before recommending.

When I was trying to launch an ecommerce site, I tried magneto. The script was so complicated to me that I could not use it. Therefore, I switched to wordpress and customized it by using woocommerce plugin. With this wordpress plugin, you can easily convert your simple wordpress site to a wonderful ecommerce site.

I think using WordPress is just the way to go because it will be much easier to customize many plugins. woocommerce is very popular and easy to use .you can try it out it very easy to use for one's online store.

Yes WordPress and woocommerce seems to be the perfect combination. I think in that context it's better to think of magento as one CMS for the most of the work. But all in general it'd be reasonable to see that woocommerce paid plugins are expensive. And it'd be reasonable to assume things are going to be a bit harder to get hold of. I think on that note wordpress is lot better though for most things.
