How to bid properly on WTB

Hi everybody we know SEOclerks has a great section - WTB. It offers a great chance for Newbie on this platform to get a job. But, there are many competitors with the same skill. These tips may help you to get a job from the WTB.

1. Read the buyer's description very carefully, as it will help you to make a proper bid and point out the most important points.

2. Try to be one of the first to bid. Often the first bidder gets the top priority.

3. Write a message according to the buyer's expectations. Be aware of how to address the buyer, Sir or Madam. Sometimes it is evident what gender the buyer is, when it is not avoid using either sir or madam.

Do not write something like' I can do job. So hire me'

Must mention, why you are right person to do this job? And why your service is better? What you will provide and how long it will take? etc

4. Make it simple but informative.

Do not write this description as an essay. Buyers never read lengthy posts.

You can also send a cover letter to the buyers so as to further explain why you are the best person for the job.

5. Use Bold or italic or color in important parts or points so that the buyer may understand more easily to your vital points

6. Use fair price. Do not agree always with the buyer's budget. Always consider, what you can and how you will do it? Offer a price and describe why you expect or deserve it.

7. If buyer sends you a private message make sure you get back to him promptly with your best answer

Hope these tips will help you for getting bid job.

If you have any more suggestion put in here.

One of the most important things is to respect the price the buyer is suggesting. You could go a bit higher or lower, but do not overdo it. If you feel that the price that has been set is way too low just do not bid.

Regarding what you write when you bid, you need to show that you are professional. There are often many absurd comments which clearly show a lack of professionalism. If I were to be a buyer I would place a lot of importance on the way a seller presents himself in those few sentences.

Hi EliteWriter thanks for your replay. I should agree with you. Should be respect buyer budget. But, some of buyer using new freelancer by offering very low budget. Because, newbie always try to get at least few job. And some time they give more priority on feedback than earning. And buyer try to use them intentionally. I should say respect buyer budget but do not consider you as worthless. Make sure your fair price and allocate yourself how much manageable for his job. And bid them and you can offer to more price rather than budget. And I agree with you if buyer able to give you $30 why you need to bid $10 only as example?

I cannot stand the fact that some buyers seem to exploit new users by stating that they will pay a very low price. That is why I said that sellers should still try to be reasonable. If for example the WTB states that the buyer is willing to pay only $5, and you usually charge $10 for that service, I would say reduce the price a little, maybe bid a $7 or $8 even though others are bidding $5. Then as mentioned above explain that you charge $10 usually and that you are worth hiring and offering him a discount. I did this a couple of times and it worked.

Hi Ajlancer, Thanks a lot for your post. It's a very helpful tips for everyone specially who want to bid in WTB section as a seller. I saw majority % bidder biding there with some short sentences like Order me, Please order me sir, I can do your job. I think It's really looking repulsive. By your post, now they can learn how to bid there with a cover letter. Really it's so important for all even I am very grateful to you.

Ajlancer thank you for that brilliant point. As a buyer and a female I am tired of being called Sir. Yes I understand some people have a different first language BUT this is an English website and the amount of sellers that have called me Sir are just a little bit too high for my liking... unless of course I look like a man? LOL

Hi Lynne thanks for your nice opinion. Yes! I agree with you. Some people do not care who his/her counter person. They just talk as sir. But, I think if we do not identify such way as only sir or madam and if we use to say like hi sir/madam or as a freelancer you can mention just 'hi hiring manager' that should be good. Do not need to mention specifically. A thing can change mind of hiring manager. So, as a good bidder need to do some exclusive to get job form competitor.
And I know you are very enthusiastic and energetic. So, it is up to you how you take yourself as human e.g. man or woman? As man I feel proud when oppose gender said proudly 'I look like man'. LOL

I get so annoyed when I post a WTB on a website and someone bids more than I'm willing to pay. I understand if someone bids like 10% to 15% higher than I posted, but if you're doubling or tripling the amount I've agreed to pay, you're not getting hired lol How to bid properly on WTB

I've put up WTBs on plenty of websites and some of these websites are pretty good because they understand what you're willing to pay and if they can do the job, they'll bid. They will bid what you are willing to pay, or they will click through to another offer and ignore you, which is what I would prefer. Just bidding a ridiculous amount and saying you'll do much more work than described won't get you the job. If I post something specific, don't come back with 5 more features and bid 300% higher than I'm willing to pay. Ugh How to bid properly on WTB If you can't do the job within 15% of what the poster is willing to pay, don't bid.

Another thing I don't like about posting WTBs. If I post a job request, don't bid on it and then spam me that you're the man or woman for the job. By doing this I will instantly think you're annoying and you just removed your bid in my head lol. If I post a WTB I want to sift through all the bids and contact the ones I think are right. I don't want to be spammed by a person who claims to be the best in the world for the job I posted. I understand everyone wants money, but you're just hurting your own wallet by spamming people after you bid How to bid properly on WTB

Unfortunately many people simply say ' hire me' or 'please sir choose me'. I just don't know how come they do not understand how pathetic they look when they post such comments. If they are not able to bid properly and explain how they can be a good person for the job how can they expect the buyer to trust them. Even in s short post they come out as incapable, with all due respect. And this is even more pronounced in writing services where they bid to write articles and cannot even write a couple of sentences properly and without mistakes. I just cannot stand it!

Hi EliteWriter thanks for your nice opinion. Yes I agree with you. And most of the newbie use just short sentence for bidding like 'he I able to do job or please hire me. Or order me sir etc'. Actually they do not know how to make a correct bid to buyer. And it is very important that, buyer will choose one out of many bidder, and if bidder unable to explain why he is deserve for this job? how buyer select him? And I agree with you, if you want to do job as freelancer, you need to ability for communicating to other person. You are not come in here for playing game. It is a big job and big opportunity.

Great tips. I think however that you should be the last time to bid because your bid will show up first. I truly hate bidding sites because I think in most cases it's difficult for the buyer to differentiate the services and they end up just picking any services. I've been on upwork and its hell on earth, to be honest. I don't think you're ever in with a realistic chance thanks for the tips anyway I will be sure to try them out.
