I’ve seen many sites that offer trial in their ‘services’ and the only way to use that service is to put your credit card details, because they want to make sure that you are a real person and not a bot software.And there is nothing wrong with it I think , because it’s simply a way to protect their services from abusers. In the past, I remember I’ve used some of these sites without facing any problem, and one of them was amazon. However, I know there are people who will never trust their credit cards in these websites.

Whenever I sign up to a website that asks me for a credit card at sign up I'll use a prepaid credit card just so I'm not at risk if the site does turn out to be fraudulent. Now some websites aren't even fraudulent, but they do set up their system so that you have to contact their support team in order to cancel and then you can never get a hold of their support team lol. Having a prepaid card helps avoid any hassle with these because you control how much is on the card.
After I assess the website and see if they are credible and I want to continue to use them, I will edit the credit card information so that I don't have to worry about the funds running out on the prepaid card and everything will just pull from my business bank account or my paypal account.
Usually the more popular websites that don't need to prove themselves will ask for your credit card info at sign up because they've been tried and tested by a vast number of users already. They most likely have a ton of positive reviews out there which helps their credibility. I've done this plenty of times. A lot of websites are going towards the "No credit card required at sign up" due to the random fraud sites out there trying to collect credit card information. But on sites like amazon, it's pretty normal to see the credit card verification.
