How do you stay hydrated in the summer heat?

The only thing I do to stay hydrated is to simply drink lots of cold water and occasionally chilled tea. This helps me feel cooler in the summer heat so that I don't dehydrate when the temperature rises.

An ice cold coca cola is always a really good choice and something I would order if out for lunch on a hot day. The cold softdrink might not be the best choice for health but it's a good way to cool off in the summer sun.

Any cold beverage helps me stay cool during summer even milk. I don't drink hot beverages as that has the opposite effect and heats up my body.

Do you add lemon or sugar or honey to your tea?

Just chilled water for me, no need to add sugar to the body when hydrating as that will make it worse.

Fresh water is always the most natural option and something your body will crave. The good thing about water is how it's calorie free and fat free and unlike many carbonated drinks. Though I would recommend using a filter to get the purest water.

Water is too plain tasting.

Give me cold diet soda. That's all I want when it's really hot. Anything one calorie will do. How do you stay hydrated in the summer heat?

Slushies are one of my favorites. I don't make them a lot but they are pretty good to quench the thirst.

Organic is always a really good choice How do you stay hydrated in the summer heat?

Very natural and healthy.

Today I walked to the local corner store and it was very hot even at 9 am. I'm wishing I had brought along a nice cool drink for the trip.

Sugar drinks can cause you to become dehydrated much faster than if you are drinking plain water.

For that reason, you should avoid cola and go for a spring water in the bottle.

Keeping your water bottle in the refrigerator will give you fresh, chilled water any time you want it.

It's nice to drink ice cold Coke during summer especially at daytime when the sun is searing hot. But I have kidney stones so it is more of water for me. Sometimes I make lemonade when our lemon plant has fruits. At other times, I make fruit drinks with what we have in our garden such as mango and cashew. It is amusing for some to taste the cashew drink. It is not the nut but the yellow cashew fruit. After slicing in strips, mix it in a pitcher of water and add sugar and ice. It's a very refreshing drink. I also do that to cotton fruit.

It has been so tough to stay hydrated recently, as we've had a heat wave where the weather has been at a constant 40 C (or 104 F) for days now. It really has been killer, and I can't recall the last time I wasn't sweating bullets. That being said, there are a number of methods that help. For starters, obviously you have to keep track of your water intake. Even in the summer it's easy to forget to drink as much water as you should, at least 2.5L a day, and anywhere between 3 to 4L in the summer. Watermelon juice or coconut water are also amazing because they actually hydrate you better than water, and they have electrolytes. I also like to wear a cold towel when the heat gets really intense, because chilling myself to the bone with cold water helps stop the sweating for a bit.

Taking lots of water does it for me for it is a way that I ensure that my body is not dry all day. Actually, I am that type of person that enjoys drinking water almost each passing day.

Start drinking a gallon of water a day right about now. Think of water as oil for the engine that is your body. You wanna make sure to get it firing on all cylinders before going out and putting it through extreme conditions.
