How many Youtube accounts have been banned over fake traffic?

Does anyone know how many Youtube accounts have been banned over fake traffic or likes? I would like to know if it's against their TOS to do, why so many people are still trying to scam the Youtube system in this way.

Maybe only Youtube wold know the answer to this question. Though many people who get a banned account, simply sign in with another Google+ account and go at it again. The very determined ones will always find a way to use Youtube.

I could only imagine just how many accounts have been banned. I haven't been affected by this myself, as I don't use YT as a source of advertising. I'm sure it was against the TOS, but at the time, it probably wasn't seen as a real problem until it did become obvious manipulation.

The same goes with Facebook now, they're cracking down on all the fake "Likes" and "Friends". The social media train is going to crash hard, unfortunately.

If you are legitimate in your dealings with Youtube, then you will not have to worry about account closure. If they say, no fake traffic, then don't go in that direction. Just concentrate on producing high quality videos that people will want to watch and you will get traffic and views for them.

I think if we abide by site terms and conditions we won't be having tons of problems like account banned, deletion and stuff like that and it because of things like this, that there are also severe measures and punishment for simple or minor offenses by innocent offenders that might have committed some minor mistakes.I think it severe now because they do not need paid traffic, so one's channel risked being banned from the use of paid traffic.

It's common sense, why would someone direct or buy fake traffic to his YouTube account? It's owned by Google and nothing escapes the big G.

We are in need of views for our Youtube videos in order to get the minimum number of viewing hours that will qualify our channel for monetization. However, I couldn’t think of buying views because I had read in various discussions that those views being sold are actually fake traffic. We all know that having fake traffic is plain cheating and it will have a drawback on the channel. If the channel is banned there is no more room for appeal and that is the end.

It's best to obey the rules and guidelines. A friend of mine who's nearing 100K subscribers got banned for fake subscribers, to think that he's only a few thousand subscribers short.
