How public are you on Facebook?

I try to never share personal or family information with anyone on Facebook. And, I'm very careful about posting personal or family photos even for status updates that are shared with friends as often friends of friends can see these posts too. You never know who is seeing your personal life on a public forum.

I don't share information about my family with people that I have only met through Facebook as that could result in a dangerous situation. However, if I know the person offline such as my own parents or siblings, then I can message them and share family events easily without fear or hesitation.

All the people that are on my FB are people that I know. I don't share a whole lot, however I don't have any clients on my FB either.

I do not share private things on FB that I don't want others to know about. Otherwise I am very public for things that are minute or don't matter that much.

I started a Facebook after I opened an online blog as this was my main way to advertise. Now I have both friends, family and readers who see my timeline as well as my Facebook page. I am not hiding anything from them when it comes to my blog or any of my sites. But, I won't share too personal problems with anyone online or in person unless they are actually in my life and concerned by the situation.

I don’t think it is a good idea to fill in your profile pagewith all the information about you unless you are trying to gather 5,000
friends and you have painted an impressive profile which are not all true. For
me, my Facebook account is for connecting to my circle so I don’t need to
include details about myself since 99% of my friends know me personally. So if someone
will create a clone of my account, they will get nothing except my picture. A
cloned account is supposed to be you since the profile is about you but the
name is different. It is now prevalent in Facebook. And they call them Posers.

I have several Facebook accounts which I use for different reasons. Most are public accounts but some are private accounts, only family can access it. It's where I post personal photos and family events. It's strictly a family account. I also have a separate private account for close friends. And a general public account which has a lot of accepted and added friends which I really don't know personally.
