It's very unlikely you could ever rank very highly for just one keyword as most of these one word keywords are already taken by more authoritative and well established sites.

No. Practically its not possible. Ranking game is not permanent. It depends on the authority of the pages. If your competitor or any other official or govt had come up with good sources and reference they can replace you anytime.

It is possible but from PPC only. From organic ways it will take years to come on 1st page

Maybe if you were able to buy a one keyword domain name, such as beauty.com or pets.com, you could actually rank for that keyword. Otherwise, it seems impossible to do.

I don't think you can achieve this. The domains that rank for ONE keyword have VERY VERY high authority! And also, those keywords will NOT help you sell your products/services! You need GOOD keywords that will "call-to-action"! Can you ever rank for a one word keyword?

Even ranking for a two or three word keyword is hard, not to mention how hard it would be to rank for just one specific word.

Don’t laugh because I am not trying to be funny. Your one word keyword can make your website rank if it is unique like goomboobah. That is an invented word but I’m sure it is not used by any other website. And if you can make that word popular because you are churning articles with titles that include that unique word then you are doing good with your one word keyword. But with common words like beauty or wonderful, you need a qualifier, that’s an adjective you add to that one word keyword.
