    This morning while searching for a domain registrar for a .me TLD, I found this (on first page) of Google along with this descriptive text beneath the site title. I'm wondering how a site like this would rank at all for a popular keyword search term if they are using a restrictive robots.txt.

    Most likely the site does not allow robots to crawl the site but it still has some type of authority which allows it to appear in search listings. This might change in the future as to whether or not Google allows sites not crawlable to appear.
