Do you really need to optimize your blog or website?

What if you just didn't optimize your blog or website with SEO techniques but only published good content? Is there any chance you would rank well for any keywords you really wanted?

I think that if you optimize it you just do better in the long run. No you do not have to do it but it works out a lot better for your site if you do.

If you optimize your site then it is good, you would be able to optimize your targeted keywords and you would get the benefit.

If you are writing or sharing about something rare or your site is really famous, then you needn't care about it. But if you are a newbie, then you have to do seo!

Also, if you have done on-page optimization perfectly then you have to make less effort for off-page optimization or without off-page optimization, you would be able to rank some low competitive keywords.

Well, to be honest.. you really don't need to optimize your website. You even don't need to build any backlinks.. if your content is good enough, people will do it for you. And that's the ultimate goal of Google.

@MikeQ - I don't agree what you said. On-page optimization doesn't make off-page optimization easier. On-page SEO shows G information about your website/post.. off-page show's how important your website/article is.

no you dont need to, but at least make sure you dont write too general and there is some system, structure in your website, so visitr is not lost and lost without valuable info..

I would say, offpage SEO is more important then onpage SEO. It is because google gives more importance to offpage SEo when compared to onpage SEO

Yes. Before I explain, I will ask you a question. What is your primary aim of launching a blog or website?
Your answer might be making money.
If you want to make money how will you do it? Do you expect people to come to your website and buy products right after you launched? You need visitors, however, visitors need to know about your website. How will they know your website if you do not do SEO or market your blog.
SEO will improve your website visibility, When your website ranks higher, you will have visitors and the visitors will buy products. You will then make money.

By publishing good content, that is already a method of SEO. And if you will just focus on that and not do any other SEO chores like using keywords and spreading your backlinks, I guess that will do because the content is the primary element that search engines look for in their evaluation regarding the ranking in the search list. Especially if your good content is unique and relevant to your niche, frequent publication can even increase the rank of your website in the search list.
