Content,backlinks,keywords etc comes under SEO

SMO Deals with the social networking sites that you are pointing to your site.
Fanpages,twitter accounts,Pinterest accounts etc .Managing them to improve your website ranking is called social Media optimization

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization
SMO stands for Social Media Optimization
both are related to each other as they both increase traffic and rank of website.
In SEO optimization of website with the help of techniques like on page and off page has been completed. while in SMO posting of social media sites that includes facebook, twitter etc has been done.

So you know the difference here, if you are doing SEO then you have to optimize your website if you are using SMO then you have to optimize your profiles to get visitors.

Are You kidding. Traffic from the social signals are targeted. A lot of people running behind social networking sites to make the best out of every thing they had. I think I have learned a lot about SEO and its methods which stand for search engine optimization. It is making the website friendly to search engines. With SMO which is social media optimization, it is new to me and my idea is to gather lots of friends and followers so your social media account will have a stronger presence that when you post something then you can get many reactions.
