I've read 2 and they were both outdated. I suggest reading on forums and blogs since this field changes almost daily.

There's a lot of useful information on Google's search engines if you know what to look for.

LOL. Seriously. I can't classify Google as a book. If I could compare it to something, it's a library, not a book. YOu know why?

Maybe it's just another way of saying Google is a good resource for links where you can read more.

Could be... But c'mon, we can't say that Google is book. Primarily, it doesn't have the information of its own. Google just links the searcher on the site that contains the information. Well, it does have info on SEO, but not all things are posted there.

I was just giving the person the benefit of the doubt in that might have been what they meant. Of course, Google is only a search engine, a collection of links/snippets leading to other sites. And, many times, Google is a first resource for beginning the learning process, very much like consulting the table of contents/index of a book. Just imagine how difficult it would be to randomly surf around (without Google's help) and find many of the same websites/blogs.
