hi, i have a site with a relatively good traffic atleast it okay since my blog is just 5 months old, and 99% of my traffic comes from google SERP its 100% natural, most of my kep works are ranking on first page.
I was worried because i do less of link building, on alexa i saw only 51 which i didnt build so they came naturally, i saw a product here yesterday for about 165 profile backlink, i paid for it, now i am worried again if Google will notice that it is not natural and drop my keywords from first page?
You might ask why i went ahead to get links when i am okay with my traffic and been on first page for most of my keyword, yes that is because i have PR0 i was hoping to increase that.
So should i cancel the product?
how then can i increase my PR?
Thanks

Hi
Hi wasconet,
If the profile package was a mix of nofollow & follow links and are from sites that are in good standing with Google, your site should be fine. If you want to be safe, wait for the ranking to settle down, go to your google webmaster disavow page , analise the quality of the links recieved and remove the ones considered spammy by Google.
As for the increasing the PR, go for quality long articles, mix them with pictures, videos, infographics and so on.
Invite authority speakers from you niche to write on your site, create a podcast or even better, create a radio, interview some top personality from your niche & transcript the interview to post on your site.
This and many other little tricks will boost your PR but bare in mind that PR can be assign to the domain and page and more often than not they are not equal.
Hope that help you, let me know if you have any further questions

its seams that Google only increase or decrease PR internally. Not official any longer. So the best approach will be to get links from pages with high trust, only.

It´s complicated...
If your planning only to use dofollow links think again because in the eyes of Google its spamy and smells unatural miles away. Page rank is the combination of many factors including the quantity & quality of your links and most importantly, the internal link structure of your site. For any PR to be sustainable You need to create a Silo structure on your site and divide the quantity of links througout your pages.
What is a Silo page structure?
A Silo consists of several pages linking to each others. Starting with hardest keyword to rank at the top of your Silo, that keyword/page will link to other keywords/pages on the level bellow and those keywords will link to another set of pages/keywords that in turn will link back to your MAIN keyword
Something like this:
- gold links to gold bars
- gold bars links to gold coins
- gold coins that links back to gold
When you start you link building, you will split the amount of links between your keywords in different amounts so 100 links total will be spread into :
- 50 links pointing to your gold keyword
- The remaining link quantity divided amoung the other keywords.
You can read more about the PageRank here - this is not my site and I am not in any way affiliated with the owner

but still Matts Cutts almost confirmed that Pagerank will not be official viewed or increased or updated. Pagerank would only be baked in internally inside the google algoritm in the future. This action is taken to stop link buying.

SEO is something that is never ending and it's really not possible to give you a simply yes or no answer.
The backlinks and how they will effect your current rankings will depend on the quality of the backlinks as well as their relevance to your site. From my experience 165 backlinks in the grand scheme of things is a very small amount so unless these links are very spammy it is unlikely to negatively impact you if you have such good rankings already but I of course cannot guarantee this.
Keep in mind that Google now provides the disavow tool in the Google Webmaster area. This tool can be used to disavow backlinks, stopping them from effecting your site rankings.
Cheers,
