Very interesting how people will take time to read a banner but not a text advertisement which says the same thing. And, maybe that's because the words on a banner are more attractively presented and easier to read than a block of text on a page.

The purpose of a banner ad is to catch the viewer's attention and hold it long enough to make them take action. If there are too many words on the banner or it appears too busy or is not clear enough, then no action will be taken.

The purpose of a banner ad is to catch the viewer's attention and hold it long enough to make them take action. If there are too many words on the banner or it appears too busy or is not clear enough, then no action will be taken.

Literally you have just seconds to capture a person's attention on a page, before they click away and are gone. Just best to get to the point very quickly while you have the opportunity.
