    Why SEO Folks Depend on Link Building?

    I want to discuss about link building and I want to know your opinion that why SEO folks use only link building technique to boost ranking while 199 ranking factors are also available to rank any website.

    I am sorry, it's a big discussion topic.
    John Mueller said on 15 Feb in his Google+ hangout that

    In general, I’d try to avoid that.

    So that you are really sure that your content kind of stands on its own and make it possible for other people of course to link to your content. Make it easy, maybe, put a little widget on your page, if you like this, this is how you can link to it. Make sure that the URLs on your web site are easy to copy and paste. All of those things make it a little bit easier.

    We do use links as part of our algorithm but we use lots and lots of other factors as well. So only focusing on links is probably going to cause more problems for your web site that actually helps.

    Nice to talk with you. I want to just say that spread your information by blogging and blog sharing, avoid link building, work on other 199 SEO factors.

    199 seo factors? i dont think so that there something better than link building specially if you want to rank for long time with your own website, you cant aoid link building


    I agree with you @sanfora that link building is a powerful ranking factor.
    But SEO is not only link building. We should work on other factors also.
    Most of the link building techniques are considered as a spam whereas few bad links can damage your site for long time.
    do in-depth blogging, benefit is - that user can use your blog link in his website or other websites (forum or other blogs)
    Google gives less priority to regular quality do-follow sites, (regular site means sites which can only be used for link building) Because these sites are not niche sites. If links are created by users then obviously links will be made on niche sites.
    You can use other link building techniques like
    - Give interview or share unique experiment with mashable, techcrunch and other niche and popular sites.
    - Create links by Testimonial
    - Create links by client's sites (create link in Footer)
    - Create links by charity donation sites
    - Create links by in-depth tutorial for .edu and .org sites
    Think different, if you really want to improve ranking by using link building.
    Don't force to rank any specific keyword by link building, Google knows this trick, you can use variations and synonyms of keyword.
    Content marketing is the king of SEO 2015.

    My idea on the issue that SEO specialists and adherents are focused on link building is because the backlink works 2 ways. When your backlink is clicked by a user of that site then your site gets traffic. When someone searches using a particular niche then the search engine increases the ranking of your site in the search list if you have many quality backlinks. A keyword works one way only that traffic results only when a search is made while backlinks work when there is a search and when the user clicks on it.
