SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

This past week, the staff have been working long hours to clean up the Marketplace of spam and dead services. We have merged many duplicating categories for user convenience and even deleted a few that were not seen as needed. It's a work in process - we are deleting old services from inactive users and even services that are several years old but never been purchased.

After all, if a service was published 3 years ago and no one bothered to purchase it by now, then it's likely dead content and should be removed so other more experienced sellers can more easily compete. All those are just clutter and have no place in an active, thriving Marketplace.

As for any other services that have mysteriously vanished, they have likely been cut due to quality control.

Any service description that is short, copy/pasted, lacking in content, redundant of similar services you are already offering, etc is going to be deleted. So get into your services and spruce up those service descriptions - add something relevant that will help your buyers make the decision in your favor. You don't need ten Youtube services, just one good one - just be sure to make good use of y our extras.

We're not deleting popular services, those which have proven successful for sellers. But we are asking you to improve your service description whenever possible to ensure you are offering the highest quality experience to our buyers.

Another thing, we don't want 1000 people all competing to sell the exact same Instagram and Youtube services; that forces sellers to drive down prices in an attempt to get a sale. That type of business benefits no one. And, for that reason, most if not all new social media services are being rejected.

So anyone thinking of sending in Youtube or Instagram or anything related to social media services, should just not even bother. It's going to get rejected without second consideration - that applies to new and senior sellers. Use the services you have to your best benefit, offer extras whenever possible - rather than publishing an entirely new service to offer different quantity.

We have SO many social media services now and to have sellers glutting the marketplace with more similar services is unnecessary. And, I hope our sellers can see we are doing this for their own benefit, as the fewer people competing in these popular social media categories, the higher prices can be and the more money a seller can earn.

While we appreciate our new sellers and want to give you the chance to earn with us too, we don't really need anything else in terms of social media.

For new sellers, please take time to explore your own unique talents and offer a service that is wholly different than anything else offered now.

If you have concern about your specific service which was deleted deleted, please feel free to submit a support ticket about the matter. All requests are individually reviewed and if you present a strong case in your favor, there is a chance your service can and will be reinstated.

We care about everyone in our community and want to ensure you are prospering; everything we are doing is for you.

I have few suggestions to improve the marketplace

1. A big Contact button, its hard to find now from the service page for a new user.
2. Option to add more then 3 service extra.
3. Affiliate commission must be improved, so other users take it seriously and promote it full hearten.
4. White-list seoclerk from Facebook, please do what ever it takes.
5. Webnair and videos to train people, how they can promote service and bring new customers.

Great Initiative @Beverly I was hoping something like that marketplace is full of spams right now and its highly effecting quality suppliers. This was highly needed. Its really great to see how Seoclerks is growing fast I see a huge increase in traffic this year compare to last year. Keep up the good work SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

Recently I have noticed sellers have made 4-6 same service and bump them all at once if a person bumps a service and 5-10 bumps got ahead of him in a minute then his bump is totally wasted. By cleaning up same services it will give buyers variety of service so he could easily select the buyer of his choice.
@seoguru24x7 Yes a contact button is highly needed, Point 5 I totally agree even I am planning to start some training here in universities and Computer science institutes to introduce Seoclerks and bring in more quality clerks. Soon I will contact Jordan regarding this SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup Seoclerks is indeed a great platform to work.

Great news and thanks to all seoclerks team for taking such action. I guess some sellers will not be happy, but we need this website to look like professional SEO and SMM marketplace, not just a place with thousands services competing one to another.... Some guys here act like this is competition in lowest possible price with as many bumps you can get SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup So i am happy to see this improvements because i prefer quality over quantity.

So... When it's about improving this marketplace, once again i would like to appoint seoclerks staff about my suggestion made long ago and it was supported with many other members as you can see in this thread https://www.seoclerk.com/forum/thr...categories.9719/ It would be great jump to whole new sphere of business where many of us see a lot of opportunity to earn more money.

At some point, Jordan was involved in this conversation, but even year after there is nothing done about it, so i still HOPE it will be SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

At one point we were going to make an entire new section that allowed website and domain sales (kind of like the article/blog review section). However, it would be different.

Listing a domain or website for sell would be free. After a successful bid from a buyer, the buyer and seller would then work out payment details (either direct via a pay processor, using an escrow service, etc). Once the listing is completed, it is disabled from the market.

Thoughts?

Regards to all of you <3

Another point I forget to mention -
seoclerk forum is also a place for spam messages, users (including me) comments only to get free bumps. I have no idea how that can help us grow. We need real contributors and some changes in rules.
Whenever I check "Members Online Now", I find unregistered guests more then registered members. That means people are visiting our forum. So we need more content and engagement on the forum as well. We can take example from apexforum.

That's very frustrating when a seller cheats in that way. And, really good sellers lose out on the chance to have their service(s) seen when a seller is constantly spamming. There is no sense in one seller having ten services for same product (i.e. Youtube) all with different quantities. It's just senseless clutter and it makes our Marketplace look spammy. A good seller can do as much with a few really good services, tailoring that service to the buyer's individual needs via extras (and multiple quantities). Anything else, is just an attempt by the seller to dominate a category.

Well i was suggesting two different categories:
  • domains for sale
  • websites for sale

But they would probably need different setup (like sponsored tweets, or software). However, i am sure there is many sellers interested to get involved in selling domains and whole websites as you can see from link i provided in previous post

p.s. We are thinking the same way on this issue. And, I'm already talking to senior staff about us getting rid of free bumps for posts as it has never helped us achieve the really great content - just a bunch of senseless spam posts. The free bumps for posts was supposed to encourage active participation in the forum but has produced nothing but extra moderation work for forum staff. There are plenty of ways for members to get free bumps without forum posting.

As for what you said about content and engagement, that will depend on involvement by the SEOClerk members. And, we've always wanted better engagement with our members via forum. This is one of the biggest frustrations of forum management, getting people to actually talk to each other in a meaningful way - easier said than done. No 'incentive' for posting is going to make that happen, we just need more active/real members getting in here and posting about the things they love. And, I'm talking about people who actually want to talk, not just earn free bumps by posting 'thank you'. Even a small forum with just a handful of very active members, all posting daily will look more active than a huge forum with thousands of members where hardly anyone posts. Thanks again for all your great input and suggestions, your ideas are always welcome. SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

Now, if only we could get rid of that crappy FAQ section and replace it with something meaningful that makes sense and doesn't look like spam and chaos. We could actually accomplish a lot.

I also think that FAQ section doesn't have it's real use. First of all we have forum for asking questions and provide help to members. Other than that, current FAQ https://www.seoclerk.com/faq could be turned into kind of tutorial blog or so....

Great start! The marketplace is full of crap and users with 20 pages worth of services that are all the same or copied from other sources.

Of course this will make it harder for new sellers to get started, as they somehow have to come up with something 100% unique within a large marketplace that already sells everything under the sun. But we don't really need new sellers. We need new buyers...many more of them. So lets work towards making this a closed community and support just the sellers we already have. It's a great idea. I like it!!

Now, if only we could get rid of that crappy FAQ section and replace it with something meaningful that makes sense and doesn't look like spam and chaos. We could actually accomplish a lot.

And you'll hate me for saying this 100 times, but we need a list of banned services. How the powers that be dont understand that simple request is beyond me. We have rules, so why not be transparent about stating them? Even stating in a clear FAQ something like "If your service violates the terms of another site, then it violates our terms as well", rather than create a listing and see if it gets approved or not and then new sellers complain about it in the forum...a lot. Seems to me that causes extra work for staff to go through.

I do like the idea of senior members getting special treatment for their already established social media services though, seeing as how I am one, so again, great start! SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

We have very good reason for wanting our good sellers to be happy with us. SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

As for what you said about the 'banned list', it's been discussed before and hopefully it's something we can implement.

For now, we can discuss what's banned and what's allowed in terms of services on the forum and just make the best use of what we have here. This will give us more reason(s) to talk to each other on forum. SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

As for the spam issue on the Marketplace, I'm not sure what was allowed in years past, but it's a new day. We're getting tough on spam and spamming and that will mean massive bannings for people who insist on submitting the copy/paste and junk services that clutter up our site. We're not a 'new' site anymore, so we can afford to be choosy about who we allow to sell with us. The more really good, high quality sellers, the better quality of buyer we will attract. The process goes hand in hand.

I also think that FAQ section doesn't have it's real use. First of all we have forum for asking questions and provide help to members. Other than that, current FAQ https://www.seoclerk.com/faq could be turned into kind of tutorial blog or so....

It's very frustrating when they go to the FAQ section and post questions but won't even take time to come here to talk to us on the forum. We have many really good members here on the forum with actual answers.

Another problem i think is the "advertising" of their website here on forum, forum posts should have a filter to prevent posting URLS .
Keep it up!

Forum staff usually chase spammers and removing bad things, but please whenever you see something inappropriate use "Report" link below any post to alert moderators about it!

I wanted to follow up to let you know this idea was yet again discussed by staff today. We understand there are a lot of people buying and selling domains and websites, but there are also obstacles to making this a reality on the Marketplace, otherwise the idea would have been implemented a long time ago. The issue here is how these would be 'one off' sales. So, presumably the listing would need to expire after that one sale was made. If the senior staff can find a way to implement this idea, then it likely will be put into place. If you have more specifics on how this would work, please submit those for consideration.

Thank you @Beverly Nice to know that this was discussed. I know it's different because this would be "one off" sales. Jordan was discussing it on forum last year so i thought he will have some idea by now SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup https://www.seoclerk.com/forum/thr...9719/#post-78147

I will think of something and if i come up with right idea which doesn't need huge programming i will let you know.

But for now, let me say something simple like this. I have seen some people here already selling domain names, but there is no appropriate category for it, soooo... at the moment i am thinking that we don't even need anything special but just marketplace categories, and let the sellers think how would they negotiate transfers after sale, because it's already happening (just not so much as it could be). They could use one service to sell multiple domains or create services for each, then let them decide if they want to recreate sales page (for another domain) after a sale or create new one....

Or maybe section similar to "Sponsored Tweets", something simple. Then if that section boost sales, various features could be added in future if there is need and if it worth investment of time and programming...

Or someone else have better idea, let's see SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

Just a reminder, as part of our SEOClerks Marketplace clean up, we are deleting services by inactive sellers.
Inactive sellers are one of the leading causes of buyer complaints as well as disputes.

If you see a service from a seller who has not logged in for more than a few weeks, please be sure to report that service as spam (click the report button on the service page, left hand menu) so that it can be deleted.

As always, we appreciate the help of our community in keeping the SEOClerks Marketplace free of spam and junk services.

Thanks.

Hi, I have responded to your request. As I explained, that entire category was deleted and many of the services with it. Your service has many positive ratings and for that reason, it was restored. Please check your ticket for an update. Thanks.

Thanks. And, it's a work in progress, we're not done cleaning it up yet. Today, we are looking over the Virtual Assistant subcategory and finding many inactive sellers there and for that reason a lot of services are being deleted. We don't need these inactive services cluttering up our site, that's spam and it has to go.

And, to everyone, if you can't find your service in it's usual place, then likely it was either deleted or reassigned to a more fitting category.

Next up is a review of the Soundcloud section.

Please let me know if you have additional concerns or suggestions for the clean up as well as category name ideas. More specifically we get a lot of these 'Facebook group promotion' services - many are duplicates and as such will be getting deleted and the ones that are staying might be moved to a new category. If you have a good suggestion on a subcategory specifically for those type services, other than 'Facebook', please let us know.

As always, if you see a spam service (illegal, disallowed, inactive seller, copy/paste, etc), please report it.

Thanks.

If a seller is not active , his services will be inactive and will be not showing in search results instead of deleted.

Right now, we're using a very stringent standard for 'active'. If a seller has not logged in for a few weeks, the service will get deleted or suspended.

Sellers need to login regularly if they are serious about doing business here.

If you have something new and unique to offer that we're not already offering, then we'd love to see it. And, we always welcome new talent. SEOClerks Marketplace Cleanup

This clean up is not meant to completely exclude new sellers, but to get rid of the duplicate services, inactive seller/services and spam that have plagued us for awhile. We want to put the emphasis on quality sellers who can actually get the job done.

For future reference, please do not submit anything related to Google Plus, Soundcloud, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter or Pinterest. Right now, we have more than enough social media services and are in the process of cleaning up the duplicate services now.

Soundcloud services from new sellers will be deleted.

There's still a lot of services you can offer if you are into social media, just nothing to do with likes or followers.

  • social media management or marketing (such as sharing content with groups)

  • artist management/booking
  • logo/banner/timeline graphics/design (related to Facebook, Youtube, etc)
  • page header creation
  • Social Media Page SEO
  • Shoutouts
  • Tweets from your own personal Twitter account
  • posting to own group/timeline/profile
  • page creation/design

If you have experience in the music industry, that's always welcome.

That's not an all inclusive list, but hopefully should give you a starting point.

Thanks.

I'd really love some suggestions from what you all want to see more of here.

I have some suggestion regarding WTB category. There has to be some quality control in this section also.
I have noticed many 'newbie' place their bid in this section. For example the client is requiring something specific, but the bids are completely out of context (specially from new sellers). I am quite sure potential clients will get 'irritated' by these out of context bids which is not a good sign for growth of SeoClerks.

We could delete these unqualified bids all day long (and some days we do just that) and they're going to keep popping up if only because most new sellers know that some buyers are going to select the person that promises the most work for the least money.

It amazes me when sellers bid with nothing more than "I can do this job! and that is accepted by a buyer if only because the price was right. And, that same buyer is the first one to cry foul when the seller is not capable of doing the job right. And, really what do they want? If you don't prequalify a seller to ensure they have the right qualifications, how can you expect superior results?

Buyers need to take a more active role in this process. As a buyer, you have to look at a seller's portfolio of work; check out their references, ratings and recommendations; talk with their previous buyers. Only then can you know you are hiring the best person for the job.

As for the other suggestion about the scammer badge, while it would be useful, we are very diligent about banning scammer buyers and sellers and their many duplicate accounts so they can't do anymore damage.

Checking out the recent buyer/seller ratings on a member's profile page is also a useful way to know what other members are saying and potentially pinpoint a difficult buyer/seller. User ratings are also on every service page.

Exactly. If anyone deserve spam / scam badge, then i guess he / she doesn't deserve to be member of our maketplace at all, while user ratings can depend on many factors while dealing with customers / sellers and lower rating doesn't mean someone is totally bad...

This past week, we were inundated with copy/paste spam service descriptions (for new services) - copied mostly from Fiverr. Just as fast as we are cleaning up the spam in the Marketplace, more is being created to replace it.

Most of these new copy/paste services are by new members. Though a few from more experienced sellers who have been with the site awhile.

Just to reiterate, we don't want or need copied content from other marketplaces.

If you are selling on those sites, then please take time to craft a unique description for your service here. If you're a new seller, don't just copy what someone else worked so hard to write or pick a service randomly off another Marketplace - create your own sales description, specifically tailored to the service you will provide. Make your description as unique as possible. And, it doesn't matter if you're a wordsmith or not. We'd rather see a description written in your own words, rather than something copied from another site.

Submitting copy/paste spam can/will result in an infraction - with repeated instances resulting in ban. If you're even tempted to copy, just don't.

Mostly, this is a reminder for our new members who might not be familiar with the rules, though everyone submitting services for review should keep it in mind.

We're putting the emphasis back on good sellers who login regularly and provide top-notch customer service to buyers. And, as mentioned before, part of that is to get rid of services by inactive sellers. In this way, buyers only have the best sellers/services to choose from, rather than sellers who don't care enough to login. All these inactive sellers provide 'competition' for good sellers in that category, as the buyer is just as likely to choose a service from someone who hasn't logged in recently as a seller who logged in today.

These inactive sellers are also the cause of more Paypal disputes, support tickets and unhappy buyers.

If you see an inactive seller (such as where a seller hasn't logged in for weeks), please click the report button on that service. Be sure to provide a brief explanation for why you are reporting that service, such as 'seller hasn't logged in for 24 days'. .

Thanks.

Thank you so much. I think its very effective guideline for new comers. But same services does not mean duplicate services. Anyone can do better then others/aged seller by new process or ideas.

Thanks

Make your service description unique in order to distinguish yourself from the many other sellers offering the same service.
In addition to saying what you will offer in terms of service and listing benefits your customer would receive by ordering your services, you might include:

  • Short bio of your work experience as a freelancer

  • Screenshots of your work process
  • List of reasons your service is superior to the competition

  • Video of yourself talking about or demonstrating your service
  • Promotional review video created by one of your buyers
  • Useful charts/graphs
  • Appealing custom made graphics that are co-branded with your SEOClerks username
  • Service policy statement
  • Frequently Asked Questions (with answers)
  • Infographics related to your specific service
  • Quotes from customers
  • Details about your initial response time and delivery, for instance: "I will respond to your order within 12 hours and deliver within 24 hours".
  • Search engine optimized keyword/keyword phrase headings/subheadings

  • Screenshots of your best ratings/recommendations
  • Guarantees, such as: "If I am unable to provide your service delivery within 24 hours, I will cancel the order for your benefit".

  • Links to your other related services (in case the buyer doesn't find what he's looking for on that page).
  • Unique extras, not offered by your competition, including express delivery

Don't forget to spell check before you publish.

For maximum SEO benefit, always ensure your service description is at least a full page if not longer.

Link spammers messed it up for all of us, posting their spam links back to the site as part of various promotions. And, this is why we now ban for spamming.

Please help us get this link unbanned.

Go to: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/244560538958131 and request our site link to be unbanned.

If everyone asks this of Facebook, we might be able to get our link unbanned.

Thanks.

Not quite sure I understand the logic behind that one.

Why do SC members want Facebook to unban the SEOclerks domain? Answer: So they can promote (spam) their link on Facebook again, which in turn will get the link banned again, so it goes full circle.

Its all fine and good for some members to say they won't spam a lot and maybe will just post a link now and then, but if 100's of members do that (and they will), then we're just back to where we started.

Far better to use your OWN domain with an SC affiliate script and then do what you like without begging FB to allow you to spam again by promising you won't.

I logged a ticket and presented a very strong case for reinstating my service that was deleted due to some misunderstanding by a buyer.

Beverly, I hope you are reading this and help expedite my case no. 140393

Your service is set as suspended, so you can edit. You will need to include a crystal clear statement about the duration of your VPS for the basic price - WITHOUT purchase of extras. If the buyer is misunderstanding anything, it's because the service description was too vague. Please fix it before you republish the service. Thanks.
