When I go to move a thread on XenForo forum, it has the option..
Redirection Notice:

Are you sure you want to delete this post?
So when moving things threads around here on the forum, we should be using the Second Option, the Permanent One?

yes i think so

Also, if it's a brand new thread, such as one posted only an hour before, would Google have indexed it by then? Just wondering what harm if any comes from those pages as Google will find the new link quickly enough if we only use a temporary redirect. And, maybe this is a question better suited for the SEO section, but are broken links like that rooted out of the Google search index eventually? I will have to do research on all that, unless someone can provide a link.
P.S. Just let me know which redirect you prefer used, as currently I'm using the third option too (that expires after one month), for all threads, new and old.
Are you sure you want to delete this post?
Well if you use the 3) rd option it will auto change the thread back to previous state after fixed time. so maybe you should use 2)

This is making me now think that the "No Redirect" option might be the better one to choose.
