How do you deal with favoritism on a forum?

On some forums, it seems that certain members are favored and others are snubbed by the community. As forum management, how can you discourage favoritism and include all members into the discussions.

Initiate conversation between all. That is all that can really be done. I guess I have never really looked at favoritism on a forum before though. I could see how it would happen though.

I agree with blueeyes that you need to try and include everyone in conversations.

There will always be loyal clicks on a forum that band together and talk among themselves. And, it can put off new users or potential members. It's best to start discussions (as admin or owner) that welcome all voices and jump in there when members start excluding others

There once was a forum with the admin who had an apparent bias for some members. That when there is a healthy exchange of ideas, the admin would hastily side with his favorites. When I messaged him that I have been noticing his bias, he denied and reasoned that he was only siding with the one who is right. For me, siding with anyone whether he is the one with the correct idea is not a good thing. An admin or moderator should always be colorless, i.e. neutral at all times.
