    How do you get new forum members?

    With my last forum, I advertised my banner on other sites. And, that helped get new members. How do you get new forum members?

    We use signature links on related forums as well as affiliate banners (micro button) exchanges with other forums.

    I am a forum goer and I always encounter this issue of difficulty in getting new forum members. Some of the forum admin had admitted that social media is robbing the forums of potential member. And I agree with them because social media is lax and people are more comfortable than being in forums especially when the moderators are very strict. Anyway, since it is social media that is the mortal enemy of the forum then why not recruit members to your forum from the social media? Get into some Facebook Groups that has a similar niche to your forum and start pirating members there.
